An update to the fatal automobile accident that occurred on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, in Tulare County, at 11:50 AM. The Earlimart man that was killed has been identified in the two-vehicle crash, that happened just north of Pixley.
Robert Alonzo was the victim in the car collision, which took place at Wright Avenue and Elm Street, as a result of a missing stop sign. Alonzo had been traveling west in a 2001 Chevy Malibu, on Wright Avenue, approaching Elm Street.
At the intersection the Chevrolet failed to stop and drove into the path of a 2011 GMC Sierra pickup truck. The truck, which was driven by Juan Lopez of Pixley, was headed northbound on Elm St. at the time of the collision. The pickup smashed into the driver's side of the Malibu and fatally injured Alonzo.
Alonzo was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. Lopez sustained minor injuries.
Authorities reported that the stop sign that was supposed to be on Wright Avenue was missing. Witnesses said that the sign had been knocked down prior to this accident, and someone had taken it away.
Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the victim. The county could be held responsible for this collision. Let us investigate this accident for you. Call Attorney Rozier as soon as possible at 559-713-0159. www.nelsonrozier.com
