On November 21 a man died when the car he was in hit another vehicle head-on on Lander Avenue, aka Highway 165, in Los Banos. Alberto Villanueva was driving a Ford Taurus south on Lander when he attempted to pass another vehicle. Villanueva failed to see the oncoming Nissan Maxima, driven by Sada Koshaba Sada, and hit it head-on. The passenger in the Maxima was killed in the accident. Both Sada and Villanueva were taken to Modesto hospitals with major injuries. A second passenger in Sada's car, Sami Odisha, was listed in critical condition at Memorial Medical Center.
This tragic accident could have been avoided if Alberto Villanueva would have been aware of the oncoming car. While monetary compensation can not bring back the deceased, it can help to ease the burden of medical bills and funeral costs.
