On November 7 there were two major accidents on Highway 58 resulting in the deaths of Randy Bertrand and Daniel Ezzell both of Bakersfield and injuring Gary Scott.
The first accident occurred when a Hyundai Accent ran a stop sign and hit Scott's big rig. The impact caused Scott to lose control of the semi and overturn. Scott was taken to Kern Medical Center with major injuries. The driver of the Hyundai fled the scene. The overturned big rig blocked both lanes of traffic on Highway 58 and caused the Highway to be closed for four hours.
Shortly after Highway 58 reopened, Bertrand and Ezzell were traveling west in a BMW when they came up behind a car turning right. The driver swerved to avoid the turning car, and over-corrected causing the BMW to roll. Both Bertrand and Ezzell were thrown from the vehicle as they were not wearing seatbelts. Both men died at the scene.
Both of these accidents on Highway 58 occurred between Enos Lane and Interstate-5. If you are a friend or family member of Randy Bertrand, Daniel Ezzell, or Gary Scott please contact us at http://www.nelsonrozier.com/ for a free consultation.
