September 6, 2010--ATV accident in Corcoran kills 10 year old rider named Brandon McBride. Brandon was riding a Yamaha four-wheel ATV along a canal bank and crossed Avenue 5 1/2 at Newmark. A Ford F-150 pickup driven by Eloy Solis was passing another vehicle and struck the ATV.
Issues to be investigated include the speed of the pickup, whether this area has been the scene of other accidents, and whether it was safe for the pickup to pass in this area.

January 30 head-on collision near Corcoran
On January 30 there was a head-on collision just after midnight on Highway 137 east of Road 20 near Corcoran. The accident happened when the driver of a Toyota heading east on Highway 137 veered into the westbound lanes. This caused him to hit a Nissan driven by Eric Edward Cole. The driver of the Toyota, who was most likely intoxicated, died in the accident. The passenger in the Toyota, Patty Castro was taken to Community Regional Medical Center with facial cuts. Cole and his three passengers were all taken to Community Regional Medical Center as well. Cole suffered a broken leg. http://www.nelsonrozier.com/
