December 10, 2011- A man was killed on Saturday near Three Rivers, east of Visalia, in a car crash that happened at about 10 PM.
A 1998 Saturn, driven by a Wildomar man, was headed east on Highway 198, east of Craig Ranch Road. The driver made an unsafe turn, that caused him to loose control of his car.
The Saturn drove off the highway, hit sign posts, and into a dirt embankment. The impact of the car with the embankment caused it to flip over.
The driver was not wearing his seat belt, and died at the scene of the accident.
Donald Payne, of Sequoia National Park, sustained minor injuries. He was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.
