Golden State Blvd Fatality Between Chowchilla and Madera

August 26, 2011- A 16 year old Chowchilla boy, Jose Trinidad, died Friday evening when the car he was a passenger in was struck head-on by a man suspected of drunk driving.

Trinidad was in the front passenger seat of a 2001 Hyundai that was headed north on Golden State Boulevard, a frontage road on the west side of Highway 99. The accident occurred north of Avenue 20, between Chowchilla and Madera, about 15 minutes north of Fresno, right before 9 PM.

Trinidad was one of four teenagers in the Hyundai, when it was hit by a 2006 Infiniti that was driving south on Golden State Blvd.

The Infiniti’s driver, Sancho Kibufu, of Encino, was reportedly driving at a high speed when he crossed the center line and crashed into the Hyundai.

Kibufu was taken to Madera Community Hospital with major injuries, before being arrested for felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 19 year old man, and the two other passengers, were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

April 20 dui accident in Fresno

On April 20 a driver was arrested for driving under the influence after causing a three-vehicle accident. Reportedly the accident happened at the intersection of Ashlan Avenue and Golden State Boulevard and involved three vehicles. The driver who caused the accident complained of chest pain caused by a deployed air bag. That was the only reported injury. No further details are available at this time.

Stolen car hits meth vehicle in Fresno

April 22, 2010--Last night's collision between a stolen vehicle and a car carrying methamphetamines killed one.  The decedent had been driving south in the northbound lanes with his headlights off.  The crash took place on Golden State Boulevard near Church in Fresno.

April 1 accident in Fresno between a CHP car and pickup truck

On April 1 there was an accident beween a CHP vehicle and a pickup truck on Manning Avenue near Golden State Avenue. A CHP officer and two others suffered injuries ranging from minor to moderate. No further details are available at this time. http://www.nelsonrozier.com/

February 23 accident between a train and bicycle in Fresno

On February 23 a man was injured when he was hit by a train while riding his bicycle in Fresno near Olive Avenue and Golden State Boulevard. Reportedly he was wearing earbuds while he waited for a northbound train to pass. Unfortunately he was waiting on another set of tracks and was hit by a southbound train. The impact knocked the man off of the tracks. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and is expected to survive his injuries. http://www.nelsonrozier.com/

November 10 Big Rig accident in Fresno on Golden State Boulevard

On November 10 part of Golden State Boulevard on the south edge of Fresno was closed after an accident between two tractor-trailer rigs. The road was closed for about three hours as crews cleaned up spilled diesel fuel. One of the drivers suffered minor injuries.
