Semi Truck Collision Near Los Banos, Kills One, on Highway 165

Tulare County Personal Injury Lawyer John Rozier has the following collision update; On Tuesday, June 23, 2015, a semi truck accident ended in fatality in Merced County.  The tractor-trailer collision happened on Highway 165, near Los Banos, at approximately 2 PM.

A white, 2016 Acura ILX sedan, driven by Thomas Watkins, was traveling on Highway 165, between Los Banos and Hilmar.  The automobile was reported to have been driving erractically near the area of Wolfsen Road, before it smashed into a 2005 Kenworth semi, driven by Jason Cann, 43 years old.

Watkins died at the scene of the collision.

Lori Cuffman, a passenger in the big rig, sustained major injuries.  She was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.  Cann received minor injuries in the incident.

The CHP are now investigating the cause of this accident.

Merced County Big Rig Crash Ends in Fatality on Highway 165, near Los Banos

June 23, 2015- A fatal big rig accident took place on Highway 165, in Merced County.  The semi truck collision occurred between Los Banos and Hilmar, on Tuesday, at about 2:00 PM.

Thomas Watkins, of Los Banos, was driving a white 2016 Acura ILX, on State Route 165, near Wolfsen Road.  The Acura crashed into a 2005 Kenworth tractor-trailer, driven by Jason Cann, 43, with passenger Lori Cuffman, 43, of San Lorenzo.

It has been reported that the Acura was driving erratically right before the collision.

Watkins was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cuffman suffered serious injuries, and was taken to a local hospital.  Cann sustained minor injuries.
