Kern County Automobile Collision in Bakersfield, on Highway 99

On Thursday, July 23, 2015, a multi-car collision occurred in Bakersfield.  The Kern County auto accident happened on Highway 99, at approximately 8 AM.

California Highway Patrol reported that the crash took place on the northbound freeway, near California Avenue.  Traffic was backed up to Ming Avenue, with the slow lane of Hwy 99 and the right shoulder blocked to vehicles.

Bakersfield Car Collision on Northbound Highway 99

July 23, 2015- A car crash on northbound Highway 99, took place in Bakersfield.  The Kern County automobile collision happened on Thursday, at about 8:00 AM.

The CHP reported that the Hwy 99 north accident happened near California Avenue.  The incident blocked the slow lane and the right shoulder of the freeway, with traffic backed up to Ming Avenue.

No injuries were reported.

Skateboard and Big Rig Crash at Union and California Avenues, in Bakersfield

An update to the semi truck accident that occurred on Thursday, June 25, 2015, in Bakersfield.  The skateboarder that was struck by the big rig has died.  He has been identified as 17 year old, Blas Nahum Sandoval.

The tractor-trailer made a turn from south Union Avenue onto west California Avenue.  It is reported that the woman driver had a green light.

Witnesses claimed that Sandoval did not wait for the semi truck to fully turn before he entered the crosswalk at the intersection.  The skateboarder ran into the rear wheels of the double trailer.

Sandoval suffered major injuries and was rushed to Kern Medical Center.  He later died in the hospital.

Skateboarder Seriously Injured After Collision With Semi Truck, in Bakersfield

Fresno, Visalia, Bakersfield Personal Injury Attorney John L. Rozier has the following accident report; On Thursday, June 25, 2015, a big rig collided with a skateboarder, in Kern County.  The semi truck collision happened in Bakersfield at around 12:53 PM.

Officers reported that the tractor-trailer crash occurred in the area of East California Avenue, and Union Avenue.  The skateboarder appears to be a teenager.

The teen was said to have suffered serious injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center.  He was last listed as being in critical condition.

Motorcycle Collision on California Avenue Near Kerman

Visalia Senior Citizen Abuse Attorney John L. Rozier has the following collision report; On Friday, August 15, 2014,  A 39-year-old Fresno motorcyclist was killed early Friday in a vehicle accident with a car, east of Kerman.

Wayne Kangiser Jr was riding on his Yamaha motorcycle head west California Avenue, west of Howard Avenue.  He collided with a 2011 Dodge driven by Jarret Kirby, 19, of Clovis.  The crash occurred after Kirby, who was eastbound on California Avenue, made a U-turn.

Kangiser Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.

Motorcycle Collision on California Avenue near Kerman

August 15, 2014- A motorcycle accident ends in fatality, in Fresno County.  The vehicle collision occurred near Kerman, on Friday, at about 12 AM.

The driver of a Dodge pickup truck was traveling on California Avenue, near Goldenrod Avenue, east of Kerman.  The truck attempted to make a u-turn and collided with motorcyclist Wayne Kangiser, 39 years old.

Kangiser was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

SUV Accident on California Avenue in Bakersfield

Visalia Senior Citizen Abuse Attorney John L. Rozier has the following collision update; On Tuesday, August 5, 2014, an SUV collision happened in Kern County.  The sport utility vehicle accident occurred in Bakersfield, at about 1:12 PM.

Kimberly Love, 47 years old, was driving a white Ford Explorer on California Avenue.  The SUV was reported to have been weaving in and out of traffic at about 70 mph.  As Love tried to make a lane change at that high rate of speed, she lost control of the Explorer.  The Ford slid sideways into the south curb, hit a tree in the median, and then rolled over.

Love was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the SUV.  She suffered serious injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center for treatment.

Kern County Head-on Collision on California Avenue, Bakersfield

May 27, 2014- A head-on vehicle collision took place in Kern County, Tuesday night.  The automobile crash occurred in Bakersfield, California, at approximately 7:45 PM.

The driver of a black Volkswagen, was headed west on East California Avenue.  The VW, for an unknown reason, crossed the center divide and smashed into a silver Honda sedan, head-on.

The car accident left both drivers with moderate injuries.  They were taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

Double Fatality in Southwest Fresno Car Collision

May 1, 2014- A single vehicle accident ends in a double fatality, in southwest Fresno.  The collision took place on Thursday, at approximately 12:20 AM.

The victims in the crash were Terry Pegues Jr., and Tracy Kearney, of Fresno.  They were driving in a silver Honda Accord early Thursday, on Elm Avenue.

As the Honda approached a curve, near California Avenue, the vehicle sped up and lost control.  The car rolled over several times and hit a block wall, in an empty lot east of B Street and San Benito.  The impact of the Accord caused the wall to topple over.

Both Pegues, and Kearney died at the scene of the accident.

Update: Fresno SUV Accident: Kids Hurt in the Collision

March 14, 2014- The car crash that happened in Fresno, on Friday, that ended with eight children injured has been updated with new information.

The driver of the speeding Lexus that slammed into the Chevy Suburban, has been identified as 21 year old Cameron Woods.

Police report that Woods was traveling at 71 mph in the Lexus, when he ran a stop sign on California Avenue, and hit the SUV which was crossing the intersection on Fruit Avenue.

Woods was booked on charges of felony hit and run, and reckless driving, and also will have other charges brought against him for firearms possession.

The injured kids, and other passengers who were hurt, were sent to Community Regional Medical Center, Saint Agnes Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente and Children's Hospital Central California.  Complete information on the victims' conditions have not been released, but it has been reported that several of the kids have been released from the hospital.

Update: Serious Car Crash in Fresno; Children Hurt in the Collision

March 14, 2014- The crash that happened in southwest Fresno on Friday, has been reported to have occurred at about 1:15 PM.

The Fresno police have reported that 12 people, which included 8 kids, were involved in the accident.

A motorcycle officer spotted a black Lexus traveling at about 70 miles per hour westbound down California Avenue.  Before the officer could even turn on his lights and go after the car, the Lexus ran a stop sign at the intersection of California and Fruit Avenue.  The car smashed into a Chevy Suburban, and some of the children were thrown out of the SUV.

There were 9 people in the SUV, and three in the Lexus.  Eleven people were taken to the hospital immediately, with injuries ranging from minor to major.

The driver of the Lexus is reported to be in his early 20's, and was driving on a suspended license.  He was arrested for felony hit and run after he tried to leave the scene of the collision.

Serious Car Crash in Fresno; Children Hurt in the Collision

March 14, 2014- A car accident happened Friday afternoon in southwest Fresno, at California Avenue and Fruit Avenue.  Serious injuries have been reported.

The crash occurred near Edison High School in Fresno, at the intersection of Fruit and California avenues.  A black car was said to have been speeding westbound on California Avenue, when it smashed into an SUV that was coming from the south on Fruit Avenue.

Witnesses said that the black car was being followed by a police motorcycle before it collided with the Sport Utility Vehicle.

Both vehicles spun around multiple times before coming to a stop.

It was reported that there were a few children, in the SUV, that were ejected from the vehicle during the collision.  Many have been injured in the accident.

Three Vehicle Crash Ends in One Driver Fleeing the Scene in Fresno

December 13, 2011- A hit-and-run car crash happened in Fresno, Tuesday morning.

The accident occurred between three vehicles, at B Street and California Avenue. A female driver of one of the cars sped away from the scene of the collision, after it happened.

No one was injured in the incident.

Fresno police are investigating the collision.

Semi Crashes Through Two Yards in Fresno

August 11, 2011- Shortly after 11 PM, a semi truck crashed through two backyards in a Southeast Fresno neighborhood. It happened as the driver was turning from California Avenue onto Sunnyside. Police said the driver lost control, smashing though a cinderblock fence and the two yards before coming to a stop.

No one was hurt in the crash, but there was extensive damage done to both backyards. Paul Hunt, one of the home owners, said that he was in shock, and wondered how such a thing could’ve happened.

Police said that the big rig driver had a suspended license, and tried to flee the scene of the accident, but some neighbors stopped him. He was reportedly arrested for driving under the influence. He was taken to the hospital for a medical condition, not related to the accident.
