Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Sunset Boulevard, Caused by Drunk Driver, near Arvin

Kern, Fresno, and Tulare County Wrongful Death Attorney John Rozier has the following update; On Wednesday, May 6, 2015, a motorcyclist was killed in a vehicle accident.  The pickup truck collision occurred near Arvin, at 6:10 PM.

The motorcyclist has been identified as Danny Darnell Cottengim, 57, of Bakersfield.  Cottengim was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Sunset Boulevard, when he was struck by a white pickup truck, near Towerline Road.

Angel Jimenez, the driver of the truck had been traveling west on Sunset, when he turned suddenly in front of the biker, and the two vehicles collided.  Cottengim was thrown from the bike and died at the scene.

Jimenez who was driving drunk at the time of the crash, was arrested.  He and his wife were uninjured.

DUI Pickup Truck Collision with Motorcycle Ends in Fatality, in Kern County, on Sunset Boulevard

On Wednesday, May 6, 2015, a drunk driving accident ended in the death of a motorcyclist, in Kern County.  The victim has been identified, in the pickup truck collision that took place near Arvin, at around 6:10 PM.

Danny Darnell Cottengim, 57 years old, of Bakersfield, was driving his motorcycle east on Sunset Boulevard, near Towerline Road, when he was hit by a white pickup truck.  The truck, driven by Angel Jimenez, was westbound on Sunset Blvd., when it made a turn suddenly, right into the path of the bike.

The biker was ejected from the motorcycle after the vehicles collided.  Cottengim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Jimenez, and his wife, who was a passenger in the truck, were unharmed.  Officers arrested the pickup driver for driving while intoxicated.

Drunk Driving Truck Accident Leads to Death of Motorcyclist near Arvin, on Sunset Boulevard

Central California Car Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following report; On Wednesday, May 6, 2015 a vehicle accident killed a Kern County motorcyclist.  The pickup truck collision occurred near Arvin, during the evening hours.

Angel Jimenez, 52 years old, was driving a white pickup truck with his wife.  The pickup truck was traveling westbound on Sunset Boulevard, southeast of Bakersfield, near Tower Line Road.  Jimenez made a turn from Sunset Blvd., directly into the path of a motorcycle that was headed east on the roadway.

After the two vehicles collided, the biker was thrown from his motorcycle.  The man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene of the crash.

Jimenez and his wife were not hurt.  The CHP arrested the driver for driving under the influence of alcohol.  It is reported that he had a blood-alcohol level that was great than .08.

Motorcycle Accident Leads to Fatality on Sunset Boulevard in Kern County

May 6, 2015- A suspected DUI collision leads to a drivers arrest in Kern County.  The fatal motorcycle accident happened near Arvin, southeast of Bakersfield, on Wednesday evening.

A white pickup truck, driven by Angel Jimenez, 52, and his wife, both from Arvin, were headed west on Sunset Boulevard.  The pickup truck turned, near Tower Line Road, into the path of a man riding on a motorcycle.

Upon impact with the truck, the motorcyclist was ejected from his bike.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jimenez and his wife were not injured.

The California Highway Patrol reported that Jimenez had a blood-alcohol level that was greater than .08.  He was arrested at the scene of the crash for drunk driving.
