April 21 big rig accident on Highway 99 in Madera County

Early in the morning on April 21 there was a big rig accident on Highway 99 in Madera County. Reportedly Cesar Campos was driving his big rig south on Highway 99 near Los Banos when he lost control of the truck while attempting to change lanes. The truck turned over and hit the center divider. Campos was removed from the vehicle by emergency crews and taken to the hospital after complaining of pain.

January 1 Madera County accident ends in electrocution

On January 1 there was a single-vehicle accident involving a Mazda pickup on Road 268 near Leach Road in Madera County. According to reports the truck was traveling very fast on wet pavement when the driver, a 14-year-old girl, lost control of the truck and hit a power pole. The pole fell due to the impact. The driver and her 13-year-old passenger were not injured in the accident. However, after the accident the driver left the vehicle and stepped on a live electrical wire that had been knocked down in the accident. The electrocution from the live wire killed her.

September 25 Madera fatal pedestrian accident

On September 25 Eladio Lemus, a 69-year-old man, was killed in a hit and run pedestrian accident in Madera. According to reports Lemus was crossing 6th Street at the A Street intersection in Madera when he was hit by a vehicle headed west on 6th Street. The vehicle had failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection. The driver of the vehicle then fled took off and left the scene of the accident. September 21 Madera pedestrian accident

On September 21 a young boy was killed after being hit by a car in Madera. The three-year-old boy was crossing the street near the intersection of Olive Avenue and Martin Street at the time of the accident. The vehicle that hit him then fled the scene of the accident. The victim was taken to Madera Community Hospital where he later died.

June 19 Madera County Accident kills one

On June 19 Hernandez Eduardo was tragically killed in a rollover accident  in Madera County on Highway 99 near Road 20 1/2. According to reports Eduardo’s father was driving his Ford Explorer when a back wheel and tire broke free from the vehicle. May 14 fatal train accident in Madera County

On May 14 R.D. Martin was killed in a train accident in Madera County. The accident happened on Avenue 12 near Road 32. Reportedly Martin's Ford Taurus some how came to rest on the tracks as the train approached. It is unclear whether it went through or around the rail road gates. Martin attempted to get out of the vehicle before his car was tragically hit by the engine. www.nelsonrozier.com

May 5 wrongful death motorcycle accident on Highway 41 in Madera County

On May 5 Gary Stephen Maderios was killed when he was hit while riding his motorcycle on Highway 41 in Madera County. Reportedly Maderios was  southbound on Highway 41 when a pickup truck turned left off of Avenue 15 in front of him and his Harley. He hit the side of the pickup and died at the scene of the accident. Benjamin Bergquam, the driver of the pickup, suffered minor injuries.

March 19 head-on collision in Raymond injures seven

On March 19 seven people were injured in a head-on collision at Road 600 and Road 407 in Raymond.The accident occurred just northeast of Madera around 5 pm. March 17 pedestrian accident in Fairmead

On March 17 a pedestrian was injured after being hit by a car on Maple Street in Fairmead in Madera County. The victim was seriously injured after being hit at the intersection of Maple Street and Avenue 22 1/2. The vicitm was air lifted to Community Regional Medical Center. http://www.nelsonrozier.com/

March 2 wrongful death accident in Madera County kills three children

On March 2 three children were killed in a wrongful death accident on Avenue 7 1/2 west of Road 9 in Madera County. Reportedly the children's father, Aref Kareem Mohamed,  was the driver of the vehicle involved in a head-on collision. The children, Ahmaed-6, Gahassan-6, and Fatima-3, were passengers in the Chrysler van traveling westbound on Avenue 7 1/2 when the van went off the road, over corrected, and hit an eastbound Toyota Corolla. The father was wearing a seat belt and was not injured in the accident. The children were not wearing seat belts and were all killed in the accident. The occupants of the Corolla all suffered injuries ranging from minor to major. Aref Kareem Mohamed is being charged with driving under the influence, child endangerment, and DUI with gross negligence. The Mohamed family are residents of Firebaugh. www.nelsonrozier.com

February 18 head-on collision on Avenue 6 near Madera

On February 18 two cars were involved in a head-on collision on Avenue 6 near Madera. Reportedly the accident was due to the fog. There were only minor injuries as a result of the accident. February 10 wrongful death accident near Madera

On February 10 Kenneth Raymond Mueller was killed in a wrongful death accident on Road 26 near Madera. Reportedly Mueller's vehicle hit large rocks along the embankment of Road 26, south of Avenue 20 1/2.
