Merced Man Killed in Crash on Highway 65 Near Porterville

March 1, 2014- A car crash ends in a fatality Saturday morning on Highway 65, south of Strathmore, and north of Porterville.

A 27 year old man from Merced, was driving southbound on Highway 65, near Avenue 184, when his 2004 Chevy vehicle drifted into the other lane and onto the east shoulder.  The driver over-corrected, and drove back into the other lanes, off the road, and down into an embankment on the west side of the highway.

The car struck a concrete pipe and a few orchard trees before flipping over.

The California Highway Patrol report that the man was not wearing a seat belt, and he was thrown from his overturned Chevy, and was killed in the collision, from his injuries.

Deputy Hurt in a Crash near Porterville

February 22, 2012- A Tulare County Sheriff's Department deputy was injured in a crash east of Porterville. The accident happened on Tuesday, at about 3:00 PM.

The collision occurred on Road 284 and Worth Avenue, east of Porterville. The deputy, was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia to be treated for non-lethal injuries.

His name is being withheld at this time.

Road 152 motor vehicle accident near Visalia


November 14, 2010--Yesterday's collision at Road 152 and Highway 137 was caused when traffic backed up at a swap meet.  Barbara Flores, 33, of Porterville was driving a Nissan Altima and rearended a Honda.
