March 24, 2015- A vehicle accident involving a train and semi truck took place in Oildale on Tuesday. The Kern County big rig crash happened at about midnight, at Manor Street and Norris Road.
An oil tanker truck was northbound on an access road, east of Manor Street. The semi drove over the tracks, near the intersection of Norris Road. As the big rig was crossing the tracks a locomotive started to back up and ran into the vehicle.
The driver of the semi truck was pinned inside the cab, until emergency teams were able to get him out. He sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center, in Bakersfield.
The train conductor was also hurt, but only minor injuries.

Train and Tanker Truck Collide in Oildale, at Norris Road and Manor Street
Tuesday, March 24, 2015, a train crashed into an oil tanker truck in Kern County. The early morning big rig collision, occurred just after 12:00 AM, in Oildale, near a refinery.
The semi truck hauling an empty oil tanker was driving north on an access road, just east of Manor Street. As the big rig drove across the railroad tracks, near the intersection of Norris Road, a train began to back up and smashed into the oil tanker as it crossed the tracks.
The driver of the semi was pinned inside the cab after the crash. Emergency personnel were able to extract him from the vehicle. He suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center, in Bakersfield for treatment.
