December 11, 2011- A 5 year-old boy was seriously hurt after he was thrown from a vehicle, that crashed near Tulare, Sunday afternoon. The accident happened at about 1:15 PM.
Cindy Lopez was driving north in her SUV, on Spacer Drive, just south of Avenue 200. Her vehicle swerved off the right shoulder of the road, and she lost control after over-correcting. The SUV flipped over, and Lopez's son was ejected from the vehicle.
The child was flown to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno, after suffering major injuries.
Lopez and three other children received minor injuries.
It is reported that all occupants in the SUV were wearing seat belts.
