Semi Truck Caught Fire, in Accident on Highway 180, in Sanger

Visalia Nursing Home Lawyer John Rozier has the following accident report; On Tuesday, September 30, 2014, part of Highway 180 was closed to traffic, because of a big rig collision, in Fresno County.  The vehicle accident took place in Sanger, at about 2 PM.

A big rig that was carrying asphalt was traveling west on Highway 180, near Highway 63, in Sanger.  The semi truck caught fire, and spilled the asphalt, which blocked the westbound lane of the freeway.

No other information is known at this time.  The accident in under investigation.

Three Injured in Car Accident in Fresno County near Sanger

May 25, 2014- A car crash leaves three people injured in Fresno County.  The vehicle accident occurred on Sunday, east of Sanger, at approximately 8:30 PM.

A 26 year old man, from Orosi, was driving a 2010 Toyota south on Frankwood Avenue, north of Highway 180.  He lost control of the car and smashed into a couple trees, before coming to a stop.

There were four people in the vehicle, and three were not wearing seatbelts.

Three of the occupants suffered major injuries.  All four people were taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.

The driver has been charged with felony DUI.

Police Chase Ends in Car Accident in Fresno County

April 24, 2014- A car collision occurred in Fresno County, after the vehicle tried to flee police.  The accident happened in Sanger, on Thursday evening.

Sanger Police reported that they tried to pull over a vehicle for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.  This was in the area of Almond Avenue and Faller Avenue.

The driver of the car at first stopped, but then he sped away before the police could make contact.  Officers said the driver lost control, hit two other vehicles, and finally flipped the car.

The man sustained some injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno, after he was arrested.

Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving a Police Car in Sanger

March 28, 2014- A car accident on Friday, in Fresno County leaves a police officer hurt.  The collision took place in Sanger, at about 8:45 PM.

The crash happened in the area of Bethel and Jensen avenues, when the officer was called to help other officials pull over a vehicle that was considered high risk.

Three cars, including the patrol car, were involved the accident.  The officer's vehicle and one car sustained moderate damage, while the third vehicle received minor damage.

The Sanger Police officer and the driver of one of the other vehicles suffered minor injuries.

The California Highway Patrol are investigating the incident.

Accident West of Sanger on Del Rey Avenue

January 28, 2012- Two people died in a a crash near Sanger, on Saturday. The accident happened at about 8:40 PM.

Paul Rosales, was driving a 1995 Chevy Astro Van north on Del Rey Avenue. Posales failed to stop at a posted stop sign at the intersection of Del Rey and North Avenue.

A Ford F150 pickup truck, driven by Shaun Benson, of Sanger, was traveling eastbound on North Avenue at about 60-65 mph, when it broadsided the van as it entered the intersection.

The impact of the collision caused both vehicles to end up in a field at the side of the roadway. The van then burst into flames.

Paul Rosales, and, Rosa Lopez, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Their one-year-old twins, a boy and a girl, received minor injuries and were taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.

Bensen suffered moderate injuries and was also taken to the hospital.

Two Grape Harvesters Hit by a Car Near Sanger

September 24, 2011- A crash between two grape harvesters and a car ends in three hurt. The accident occurred on Saturday near Sanger, minutes from Fresno, at about 4:30 PM.

A harvester driver, Valentin Gomez Fraga, of Sanger, was northbound on Bethel Avenue, south of Adams Avenue.

The driver of a Toyota car, Albert Rivera, of Fresno, was southbound on Bethel Ave. when he drifted into the northbound lane and collided with the harvester. Fraga was thrown from the harvester and suffered major injuries. He had to be flown to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.

After hitting the first harvester, the Toyota then slammed into a second harvester that was following the first. The second harvester was driven by Marco Avila, of Sanger.

Avila and a passenger in the Toyota, Harry Duenas of San Pedro, was taken to Community Medical with minor injuries.

The accident is under investigation.

Sanger Fatal Accident after Stop Sign was run

March 3, 2011--Last night's accident near Sanger sounds very familiar.  A fatal accident occurred near Sanger about 2 years ago where the stop sign was blocked by orange tree branches---one died and 6 others were seriously hurt in that prior accident.  Litigation is still pending.

In yesterday's accident the driver of a Toyota ran a stop sign at Del Rey and North Avenues just before 7pm.  The Hmong victims were identified as Shoua Vang and Yong Vang, both in their mid-fifties.  Five others were taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.

February 8 wrongful death head-on collision at Goodfellow and Channel near Sanger

On February 8 one person was killed and four others injured in a wrongful death head-on collision at Goodfellow Avenue and Channel Road near Sanger. Reportedly an SUV was westbound on Goodfellow Avenue when it swerved into oncoming traffic and hit a Toyota truck. The SUV then went off the road and flipped over. The SUV driver, pickup driver, and pickup passenger were taken to the hospital via ambulance. One SUV passenger was airlifted to a hospital with major injuries, the other SUV passenger was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Sanger stop sign accident

A government tort claim was filed recently concerning a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of California and Quality near Sanger.  The Law Firm of Nelson & Rozier filed the claim against the County of Fresno on 9/22/09 alleging a blocked or obstructed stop sign.  Suit will soon follow against the county and the local property owner, Saroyan.  Claimants include Ms. Martinez, her husband Ruben Martinez-Duran and their children.
