2-Car Collision at Road 228 and Avenue 184, near Porterville

On Monday, August 3, 2015, a car collision happened in Tulare County.  The 2-vehicle accident occurred near Porterville, at around 3:20 PM.

A Buick LaCrosse, with male and female occupants, and a Chevrolet Malibu, with two adults and a child inside, where involved in the crash.  It is reported that one of the automobiles was traveling east on Avenue 184.

The other sedan was headed north on Road 228.  At the intersection the two vehicles crashed into eachother.  Authorites said that it looked like the cars hit front end to front end.

The Chevy and Buick both ended up at the side of the roadway, in an olive orchard.

Three people, including the juvenile, were hurt.  Their injuries ranged from minor to moderate.  They were taken by ambulance to Sierra View Medical Center, in Porterville.

Car Accident in Porterville, Injures Three, on Road 228 and Avenue 184

Tulare County Personal Injury Lawyer John Rozier has the following collision report; On Monday, August 3, 2015, an automobile accident occurred, near Porterville.  The car crash took place at approximately 3:20 PM.

The CHP have reported that one sedan was eastbound on Avenue 184.  At the same time another sedan was traveling north on Road 228.  Road 228 has a posted stop sign at the intersection.  

The vehicles involved were a Buick LaCrosse, carrying a man and a woman.  And a Chevy Malibu, which was carrying two adults and one juvenile.  The Buick was said to have collided with the Chevrolet.  Both cars came to rest in an olive orchard at the side of the roadway.

Officers are still working out the details of the accident.  They said it appears that the vehicles collided front end to front end.

Three of the victims, including the child, sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.  They were taken to Sierra View Medical Center, in Porterville.

Merced Man Killed in Crash on Highway 65 Near Porterville

March 1, 2014- A car crash ends in a fatality Saturday morning on Highway 65, south of Strathmore, and north of Porterville.

A 27 year old man from Merced, was driving southbound on Highway 65, near Avenue 184, when his 2004 Chevy vehicle drifted into the other lane and onto the east shoulder.  The driver over-corrected, and drove back into the other lanes, off the road, and down into an embankment on the west side of the highway.

The car struck a concrete pipe and a few orchard trees before flipping over.

The California Highway Patrol report that the man was not wearing a seat belt, and he was thrown from his overturned Chevy, and was killed in the collision, from his injuries.

Two Collisions on Highway 99 Slows Down Traffic

February 12, 2012- Two separate crashes shut down Highway 99, at Avenue 184, on Sunday. The accidents happened at 12:40 PM and a short time after that, between Tulare and Tipton.

The first crash, was a solo-vehicle rollover on the off-ramp near the rest area. A person from that crash was taken by helicopter to Fresno Community Regional Medical Center. Injuries are unknown at this time.

This blocked one of the highway lanes causing traffic to back up bumper to bumper along 99, according to CHP reports.

Then a second collision occurred shortly after the first, with one vehicle rear-ending another due to distraction and traffic from the first collision, stated the report.

Fatal Crash Between Big Rig and Car on Avenue 184

October 8, 2011- a fatal collision between a car and a semi truck carrying manure ends in one dead, Saturday morning, southwest of Visalia.

The head-on crash occurred at 7:39 AM. Aristeo Alvarado of Corcoran, was heading east on Avenue 184, west of Road 64, in his 2011 Chevy Malibu, when a semi truck made a left turn into the car’s path.

The driver of the big rig, Miguel A. Garcia of Tulare, received only minor injuries and was taken to Tulare District Hospital.

Alvarado was pinned inside his car, and died at the scene of the accident.

It is reported that neither driver was wearing their seat belts. CHP said that alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the crash.

June 5 rollover in Tulare County impales the leg of a teen

On June 5 Brianne Rodriguez’s leg was seriously injured when she was in a car that was involved in a rollover accident on Avenue 184 near Road 220 in Tulare County. According to reports Rodriguez was a passenger in a Toyota Tacoma driven by 18-year-old Alejandro Sepeda when Sepeda swerved his truck to avoid hitting a dog. The truck then rolled, went down an embankment, and landed on a tree. Subsequently, the tree broke through the back window of the truck and a branch impaled Rodriguez’s leg. Rodriguez was treated at Kaweah Delta Medical center in Visalia. Sepeda suffered minor injuries and was also treated at Kaweah Delta. Brittany Rodriguez and Priscilla Chavez were also riding as passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident. They came away with minor and moderate injuries respectively.

November 29 accident near Porterville in Tulare County

On November 29 Kevin Fitzgerald was injured in an accident on Road 208 near Porterville in Tulare County. According to reports Fitzgerald was traveling north on Road 208 near Avenue 184 when he drifted off the road and hit an olive tree. Reports said that he was not wearing a seat belt and was taken to Sierra View District hospital in Porterville to be treated for what were described as major injuries.

August 24 Strathmore Accident

On August 24 Bernardo Zavala critically injured in an accident in Strathmore in Tulare County. According to reports Zavala was westbound on Avenue 184 when he ran a stop sign. His van was then hit by a truck, driven by Michael Stone, traveling northbound on Road 208. Zavala had failed to yield at the stop sign, therefore Stone had the right of way.  Zavala was taken via helicopter to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno where he was listed in critical condition. Head-on crash in Porterville kills one

April 26, 2010--Yesterday's head-on accident on Highway 65 north of Avenue 184 killed Arguime Des Garcia, age 62 of Porterville.  Two occupants of a Honda Accord were injured including Eric Coyne and Brian Thoburn.
