Thursday, December 18, 2014, an automobile collision took place in Fresno County. The fatal semi truck accident happened southwest of Selma, at about 11:30 AM.
Edwin Camp, of Kingsburg was driving a white Lexus east on Conejo Avenue. At the intersection of Conejo and Fowler avenues the car ran the stop sign. The Lexus smashed into a Chevron tanker truck that was carrying fuel. The vehicle hit the cab of the big rig.
The tanker had been traveling north on Fowler Avenue when the car crashed into it. The impact from the wreck sent both vehicles north down the street. The tractor-trailer overturned and leaked diesel fuel, but no major problems occurred.
It is reported that Camp was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the incident. Emergency personnel used the jaws of life to extract him from his car. He sustained major injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.
Camp later died in the hospital from his injuries.
A passenger in the automobile and the driver of the semi were also hurt. They were taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.

Tanker Truck Collision in Selma, on Fowler and Conejo Avenues

John L. Rozier has the following accident report; On Thursday, December 18, 2014, a car and diesel tanker truck collided southwest of Selma. The Fresno County big rig collision happened at approximately 11:30 AM.
A white Lexus driven by a 74 year old man, was traveling east on Conejo Avenue. The Lexus did not stop at a stop sign that was posted at the intersection of Fowler Avenue. The car collided with the cab of a Chevron tanker that was carrying fuel.

The driver of the automobile, who was reported to have not been wearing a seat belt, had to be extracted from his vehicle. He suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.
A male passenger in the Lexus, and the big rig driver were also injured. They were taken by ambulance to Community Regional hospital.

Big Rig Hit-and-Run Collision on Manning Avenue near Fowler
July 31, 2014- A multi-vehicle collision kills two people in Fresno County. The big rig hit-and-run accident, occurred south of Fowler, on Thursday, at about 12:20 PM.
A Kenworth semi truck, driven by Alonso Hernandez of Los Angeles, slammed into a red, 2003 Kia Sephia sedan from behind, at the intersection of Manning Avenue and Fowler Avenue. The tractor-trailer pushed the car through the intersection, and into a telephone pole.
The big rig then hit another semi truck, driven by Julio Valenzuela, of Reedley, a short distance away, at Manning and Golden State Boulevard. Hernandez then proceeded to leave the scene of the accident, and continued on to a gas station on Highway 99, and Manning Avenue.
Once at the gas station, Hernandez left his vehicle and fled on foot. The California Highway Patrol arrested him a short while later.
Two people in the Kia; Leticia Trejo, and Ricardo Santos, of Selma, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Two others in the car; Renalda Santos, Efren Santos, and Valenzuela from the second big rig, were also injured and taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.
Alonso Hernandez faces charges of driving under the influence, felony hit and run, and vehicular manslaughter.

Car Crashes into Chinese Restaurant in Clovis
March 5, 2014- Another car accident involving an automobile crashing though a place of business. This time in Clovis, California, on Wednesday between 12:30-12:40 PM.
The driver of a grey Dodge Neon, was trying to park his car at the China to Go restaurant, on the intersection of Fowler Avenue and Ashlan Avenue, in Clovis. He accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, and drove the Dodge through the entrance of the restaurant. It shattered the glass store front, and the adjacent storefront's glass as well.
There were several people eating lunch inside the restaurant, but only one person is reported to have been injured.
The driver of the gray Neon was taken by ambulance to Clovis Community Hospital, for treatment and observation.
