Semi Truck Collision in Bakersfield, on Highway 58

March 27, 2015- Two tractor-trailers collided on the eastbound freeway of Highway 58, on Friday.  The double big rig accident happened in Bakersfield, at about 7:20 AM.

The semi truck crash occurred at Exit 111 Frontage Road, on Highway 58 east.  The California Highway Patrol reported that both big rigs blocked the freeway at Chester Street, and traffic was at a standstill for more than an hour, while crews cleared the road.

Kern County Pedestrian Collision in Bakersfield, on 4th Street and Chester Avenue

Visalia Elder Abuse Lawyer John L. Rozier has the subsequent accident report; On Monday, October 13, 2014, a pedestrian was hurt in a vehicle collision in Bakersfield.  The Kern County car crash took place at 4th Street and Chester Avenue.

An 84 year old driver was headed east on 4th Street, when he hit a 56 year old male pedestrian.  The man is reported to have not been walking inside of the crosswalk.

The pedestrian suffered moderate injuries in the incident.  The collision is under investigation.

Patrol Vehicle Crash in Kern County Ends Fatally for One Woman

Visalia Elderly Maltreatment Attorney John Rozier has the following report; On Sunday, September 28, 2014,  an early morning crash between a patrol car and another vehicle leaves one dead.  The car accident occurred in Oildale, near Bakersfield, at about 1:45 AM.

A Kern County Sheriff's  patrol vehicle, driven by Deputy Nicholas Clerico, was driving south on North Chester Avenue.  He was on his way to help another officer with someone resisting arrest.  It is reported that the vehicle had its lights and sirens on, when Clerico entered the intersection of China Grade Loop.

A second vehicle, driven by Nancy Joy Garrett, of Bakersfield, was traveling on China Grade Loop at the same time as the patrol car, and crashed into the deputy.

Garrett suffered serious injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center, were she later died.  Deputy Clerico sustained moderate injuries and was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

The collision is being investigated by Bakersfield CHP with assistance from Central Division MAIT.

Multi-Vehicle Accident on Chester Avenue in Bakersfield

August 8, 2014- A fender bender collision leaves one person with serious injuries, in Kern County.  The multiple car accident happened in Bakersfield, on Friday, at about 3:30 PM.

Claude E. Smith, 66 years old, was driving his 1998 Dodge Ram 1500, north on Chester Avenue.  As he was coming to the intersection at Roberts Lane, he merged into the left turn lane.  The front of the pickup crashed into an automobile that was stopped at the turn lane.

Smith tried to put the Dodge in park and get out of the vehicle, but accidentally put it in reverse instead.  He was partially in and out of the truck as it started to go backwards.  The Ram pickup crashed into three other vehicles and then a chain-link fence east of the roadway.

Smith suffered major injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center for treatment.

No other injuries have been reported.

Pedestrian Accident on Chester Avenue in Bakersfield

May 13, 2014- A vehicle collision in kern County injures one man, late Tuesday niight.  The accident took place in Bakersfield, on Chester Avenue.

A 57 year old man was walking east outside a crosswalk on South Chester Avenue, when he was hit by a GMC pickup truck, that was headed north on Chester.

Woman Struck by Car on Chester Ave. in Bakersfield

December 6, 2011- A pedestrian was hit by a car and suffered major injuries Tuesday night, in Bakersfield.

Debra Jones, a 57 year-old woman was crossing North Chester Avenue, when she stepped off the median and was struck by a vehicle.

She was seriously hurt, including head trauma.

Investigators are not sure yet, whether she was in a crosswalk or not.

Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Bakersfield

October 28, 2011- A Bakersfield man was killed Friday night while crossing South Chester Avenue, just after 7 PM.

The CHP said that the pedestrian was crossing Chester Ave. near Ming Avenue and was walking outside the crosswalk. He was headed in a westerly direction, when he was hit by a pickup truck that was driving south on South Chester.

The man was taken to Kern Medical Center, were he died from his injuries.

The driver of the truck, Salvador Tinajero, was not injured and not charged.
