Three-Car Pileup Involving Semi Truck on Highway 198, in Tulare County

On Wednesday, January 14, 2015, a three-car pileup, which involved a big rig, took place in Tulare County.  The multiple vehicle collision happened on Highway 198, west of Visalia, at approximately 9:25 AM.  It is reported that there was low visibility from the fog, at the time of the accident.

A tractor-trailer driven by Steve L. Frisby, of Visalia attempted to turn onto Hwy 198, from Road 64.  The big rig pulled out into the intersection in front of a red Lincoln MKZ, driven by Claudia De Esquivel.

De Esquivel hit the brakes, but was unable to stop in time, and smashed into the back of the big rig.  A grey 2008 Acura automobile, driven by Cheriee Brown, was driving behind the Lincoln when the accident happened.  The Acura hit the back of the MKZ and pinned it underneath the semi.

De Esquivel and Brown sustained moderate injuries and were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.

Frisby was unharmed in the incident.

Multi-Vehicle Crash West of Visalia, on Highway 198

Visalia Collision Attorney John Rozier has the following report; On Wednesday, January 14, 2015, a 3-vehicle pileup occurred on Highway 198 and Road 64, near Highway 99.  The multi-car accident happened in Tulare County, at about 9:25 AM, as a result of low visibility from the fog.

A semi truck, driven by Steve L. Frisby, of Visalia, turned from Road 64 onto the highway.  At the same time a red Lincoln MKZ, traveling in the slow lane on Hwy 198, was headed towards the big rig.

As the tractor-trailer turned into the intersection, the Lincoln, driven by Claudia De Esquivel, hit the back of the vehicle.  De Esquivel had attempted to stop before the crash, but was unable to.

Cheriee Brown was driving a gray 2008 Acura car when she smashed into the back of the Lincoln.  The impact pushed the MKZ under the semi truck.

Brown and De Esquivel suffered moderate injuries.  They were taken for treatment, to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.

Frisby wasn't hurt in the collision.

Officers reported that the foggy weather played a part in the incident.

Tulare County Multiple Vehicle Accident on Highway 198, near Visalia

January 14, 2015- A three-vehicle collision caused by fog, took place on Highway 198, on Wednesday.  The big rig accident happened west of Visalia, in Tulare County, at approximately 9:25 AM.

Steve L. Frisby, of Visalia, was driving his tractor-trailer on Road 64, when he attempt to turn onto the highway.  There was low visibility as a result of the fog, and Frisby did not see an automobile headed towards him, in the slow lane.

The semi truck pulled out into the intersection, and the red Lincoln MKZ, driven by Claudia De Esquivel, crashed into it.  De Esquivel tried to stop in time, but was unable to avoid the collision.  The Lincoln hit the back of the big rig.

A grey 2008 Acura, driven by Cheriee Brown, was following behind the Lincoln when the initial crash happened.  The Acura collided into the back of the first auto and pinned it under the semi truck.

Both women sustained moderate injuries and were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.

Frisby was not injured in the incident.

Three Vehicle Pileup in Tulare County on Highway 198, is Fog-Related

On Wednesday, January 14, 2015, a semi truck collision took place on Highway 198, in Tulare County.  The fog-related car accident happened west of Visalia, at approximately 9:25 AM.

Steve Frisby, of Visalia, was driving his big rig on Road 64,  He attempted to turn onto Highway 198 and pulled out into the intersection, right in the path of a red Lincoln MKZ.

Claudia De Esquivel, 34 years old, was driving the Lincoln, when the tractor-trailer turned in front of her.  She tried to stop in time, but the automobile hit the rear of the rig.

A 2008 gray Acura, driven by Cheriee Brown, then collided into the back of the Lincoln.  The impact pushed the red car under the backside of the semi truck.

De Esquivel and Brown sustained moderate injuries, and were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.

Frisby was uninjured in the incident.

Officials have reported that the foggy weather was a major cause of the accident.

Automobile Collision with Big Rig on Highway 198 Near Highway 99, West of Visalia

Tulare County Personal Injury Lawyer John Rozier has the following accident update; On January 14, 2015, two cars and a semi truck collided, because of low visibility, just west of Visalia.  The three-vehicle pileup happened at Highway 198 and Road 64, on Wednesday, at about 9:25 AM.

A semi truck, driven by Steve Frisby, of Visalia, was turning from Road 64, onto Highway 198.  The weather was foggy, and Frisby failed to see a red Lincoln MKZ in the slow lane and pulled out into the intersection, right in front of it.

The Lincoln, which was driven by Claudia De Esquivel, 34, of Visalia, attempted to stop to avoid the big rig, but the car crashed into the rear of the truck.

Cheriee Brown was driving a grey 2008 Acura directly behind the Lincoln and also collided with the other two vehicles.  The Acura struck the back of the MKZ and pinned it under the tractor-trailer.

Brown and De Esquivel suffered moderate injuries.  They were taken by ambulance to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.

Frisby was not hurt in the crash.

The CHP said that the fog played a major factor in the collision.
