Fresno Car Accident Knocks Out Power Pole on Blackstone Avenue

March 5, 2014- A car crash leaves some people in Fresno, California without power, in the River Park area.  The accident happened Wednesday morning at about 1:00 AM.

A white automobile that was driving down Blackstone Avenue smashed into a power pole and also took out a fire hydrant, at Blackstone and Minarets Avenue.

300 people are reported to have lost power because of the accident, until PG&E were able to fix the transformer that was almost knocked completely off the pole.

No information as to the cause of the collision, or whether anyone was injured in the crash.

December 30 wheelchair versus SUV accident in Fresno

On December 30 a woman in a motorized wheelchair was hit by an SUV in north Fresno. She was then dragged about 20 feet. According to reports the accident happened around noon at the intersection of Blackstone Avenue and Minarets Avenue. The victim was taken to Community Regional Medical Center where she is listed in critical condition. No further information is available at this time.
