Kern County Car Accident on Old River Road in Bakersfield

July 18, 2014- A single vehicle accident happened in Bakersfield, early Friday morning.  The Kern County automobile collision took place at approximately 2 AM.

A black Mercedes was traveling northbound on Old River Road, when the car, for an unknown reason, swerved off the roadway.  After the car left the road, it smashed into a tree.  The driver was pinned in his vehicle, and had to be freed.

The man sustained moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Rollover Car Accident in Kern County on White Lane

April 23, 2014- A two vehicle collision  happened in Bakersfield on Wednesday, as a result of one person driving while intoxicated.  The roll over crash occurred at about 11 PM.

The alleged drunk driver and his passenger, Alex Davis, were traveling at about 55 mph in their vehicle, when the car flipped as the driver was trying to take a turn.  The vehicle then struck another car as it rolled over, at the intersection of White Lane and Old River Road.

The driver was taken into custody by Bakersfield Police.  It is reported that no one involved in the accident was seriously hurt.

Stolen SUV Crashed Behind Restaurant in Bakersfield

November 22, 2011- A man crashed a stolen vehicle Tuesday morning behind a restaurant in Bakersfield.

The CHP attempted to pull over the suspect at River Run Bouleveard, but the driver wouldn’t stop. The officers chased the SUV, with speeds reaching 70 mph before the crash.

The accdent happened behind the Elephant Bar restaurant, at Stockdale Highway and Old River Road, after the suspect lost control of the SUV.

He was arrested after the crash, after he tried to escape on foot.

No word on whether he was injured in the incident.

Big Rig Hits Power Poles in Bakersfield

November 1, 2011- A big rig crash causes hundreds of homes to be without power Tuesday afternoon, in Bakersfield.

The accident occurred on Highway 166 and Old River Road. The semi truck driver was driving his truck on the roadway when he lost control. He hit several power poles and flipped over, spilling his load of carrots onto the road.

The rig’s collision with the power poles left 240 PG&E customers powerless for an indefinite time period.

It is unknown why the driver lost control, or if he was injured in the crash.
