June 25, 2014- A big rig and truck collision took place near Lost Hills, northwest of Bakersfield, on Wednesday.  The Kern County accident left both drivers seriously hurt, after the vehicles crashed head-on.

A fuel tanker semi truck was driving in the area of State Route 46 and Route 33 near Blackwell's Corner.  The tanker, driven by Jose Martinez, reportedly ran a red light at the intersection of the highways.  This caused the big rig to hit a black pickup truck, that was driven by David Blanchet, head-on.

January 22 weather-related road closures

On January 22 several roads throughout the state were closed due to weather conditions. West of Coalinga to Monterey County, Highway 198 is closed. A large mudslide on Highway 41 caused it to be closed between Highway 33 and Highway 46. Highway 33 is also closed from Twisslman Road to Highway 46 due to flooding. Extreme weather conditions throughout the state have caused less than ideal road conditions. Motorists are reminded that posted speed limits are recommendations during ideal weather conditions. In the case of inclement weather, proper adjustments in speed should be made. http://www.nelsonrozier.com/

Second crash in a week on Highway 46

October 28, 2009--Three people were killed Wednesday afternoon in a crash on Highway 46.  It was the second crash in less than a week on a section of roadway called Blood Alley.  The latest accident was 3 miles west of Wasco near Wildwood Road in Kern County.

On Friday, three adults and a child were killed in a crash near Blackwell's Corner about a mile east of Highway 33.

In the latest accident a Toyota was mangled in a clash with a 1-ton flatbed truck.  Once again a vehicle was attempting to pass when it was perhaps unsafe to do so.  This matter is still under investigation.  Once again the CHP claimed that bad driving and not a bad road is to blame.

If you would like this matter to be investigated further, please contact Attorney John Rozier of Visalia.
