Gas Tanker Involved in Multi-Car Crash on Highway 58, in Bakersfield

May 14, 2015- A multiple vehicle accident occurred in Bakersfield, on Thursday.  The semi truck collision happened on Highway 58, at around 4:46 PM.

The crash took place on the westbound freeway, near the transition to northbound Highway 99.  At least three cars; a Hyundai Sonata, a Toyota Corolla, and a gasoline tanker truck were involved.

Six people were injured in the incident, with minor to moderate injuries.

The CHP have reported that the accident was, in part, caused by the slick road conditions on the highway caused by the rain.

No other information is known at this time.

Northwest Fresno Hit-and-Run Collision on Shaw Avenue

October 17, 2014- A hit-and-run vehicle accident leaves two people hurt in Fresno.  The car collision happened Friday, at about 11 AM.

The Fresno police reported that a gold compact car hit a Toyota Corolla and a Chevrolet SUV, on Shaw Avenue, at the Highway 99 overpass.  The automobile then fled the scene of the crash.

The drivers of both the Toyota and the Chevy were injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.

No other information has been reported at this time.

Update: Six Car Pileup on Caldwell Avenue and Shirk Road, in Visalia

September 18, 2014- An update to the six vehicle collision in Visalia, on Thursday.  The name of the victim that was killed in the car accident has been released, by the Tulare County Coroner's office.

The female driver of the Toyota Corolla, has been identified as Janine Elizabeth Lee, of Visalia.

The pileup occurred when Brandon Lovenburg, 31 years old, was also eastbound on Caldwell Ave, in a 2005 Ford Excursion.  Lovenburg failed to stop in time, and hit the back of the Toyota, which was waiting along with other vehicles to turn left onto Shirk Road.  The impact of the collision, pushed the Corolla into the oncoming lane of traffic, where it smashed into a westbound 2006 Pontiac G-6, driven by Lorena Torres, of Tulare.

After colliding with the Toyota, Lovenburg's SUV then struck the back of a 2012 Ford Edge, driven by Benjamin Kiester, of Lemoore.  This caused a chain reaction of crashes, with the Edge, hitting a 2007 Chevy Silverado, driven by Nathan Jaramilla, and the Silverado then ran into a 2008 Ford Ranger, driven by Jason Hout.

Lee was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.  Kiester and Torres sustained minor injuries.  Lovenburg was not injured.  Neither was Jaramillo, nor Hout hurt.

Six Car Pileup on Caldwell Avenue and Shirk Road, in Visalia

Visalia Elder Abuse Lawyer John L. Rozier has the following accident report; On Thursday, September 18, 2014, a multiple vehicle collision took place in Tulare County.  The six car pileup happened in Visalia, at about 4 PM.

A 44 year old Visalia woman was driving east on Avenue 280/Caldwell Avenue, near Shirk Road, in a Toyota Corolla.  She was stopped with about four vehicles in front of her, attempting to make a left turn.

Car Collision in Los Banos on Stonewood Drive

July 27, 2014- A car accident took place in Merced County, on Sunday.  The vehicle collision happened in Los Banos, at about 2:28 PM.

A 2009 Toyota Corolla was driving north on Stonewood Drive, when at the Vineyard Drive intersection it ran a stop sign.  A silver Mitsubishi Galant that was eastbound on Vineyard collided with the Toyota.

Two occupants in the Corolla, the driver and one male passenger, fled on foot after the crash.  A third occupant, Priscilla Saiz, 27 years old, sustained major injuries, and was taken to Memorial Hospital, Los Banos.  She was then airlifted to a hospital in Modesto, for treatment.

Officers quickly caught and arrested the male passenger in the Toyota.  Mahad Abdirashid Hussien, 18 years old, of San Jose.  He had an outstanding warrant and was wanted for auto theft.  The driver has not been caught yet.

No information on whether anyone was hurt in the Mitsubishi.

Head-on Collision in Madera County near North Fork

July 10, 2014- Attorney John Rozier, your elder abuse lawyer has the following report; A head-on collision happened in Madera County on Thursday.  The car accident took place near North Fork, northeast of Fresno, at about 4:45 PM.

The vehicle crash occurred on Road 200, near Road 221.  The driver of a 1989 Buick Century was eastbound on Road 200, when the car crossed into the other lane and struck a 2007 Toyota Corolla that was driving west.

The drivers in the incident have been identified at Gloria Ann Jackson, of Friant, and Michael Wayne Bowlan, of North Fork.  Both drivers died in the collision.

The accident in under investigation.

Highway 178 Head-on Collision in Kern County

May 18, 2014- A two vehicle collision closes State Route 178 for an hour, in Kern County.  The accident occurred at the mouth of the canyon in Bakersfield, California, on Sunday.  The incident happened at about 11:14 AM.

CHP Officers reported that the driver of a Toyota Corolla who was suspected of drinking and driving, was traveling down the wrong side of Highway 178, at about 40 mph.  The Toyota collided head-on with a Jeep Cherokee.

Police arrested the driver of the Toyota.  Two people in the Jeep suffered moderate injuries.  They were taken to San Joaquin Community Hospital for treatment.

The highway was closed for about an hour while officials investigate the crash.

Car Crashes Down the Onramp Onto Highway 99 in Tulare

February 12, 2012- A Tulare woman was killed in a crash north of Tulare, at 1:20 AM, on Sunday.

Rosa Estrada, was a passenger in a 2005 Toyota Corolla, driven by Giovanni Ferreira, of Visalia. Ferreira was northbound on the J Street on-ramp when he failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the road.

The Toyota ran through a metal guard rail and overturned several times. The vehicle continued down a steep embankment, and collided with a tree, before coming to a complete stop.

Ferreira was wearing a seat belt and sustained minor injuries. He was treated at Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia.

Estrada was not wearing her seat belt and was ejected from the car. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The CHP said alcohol was a contributing factor in the collision. Ferreira, 22, was booked into the Tulare County Main Jail on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.

Car Plunges into Canal in Fresno

December 27, 2011- A car plunged into a canal in Fresno, near Ashlan Avenue and Highway 168, at about 7:05 AM.

The accident occurred on Highway 168's eastbound off ramp at Ashlan Avenue. A white Toyota Corolla crashed through a chain link fence and into the Leaky Acres ponding basin canal.

The driver was not injured in the crash.

Head-on Accident Leaves Three Hurt in Fresno County

October 21, 2011- Three people were hurt after a head-on collision in Fresno County, Friday night.

A pickup truck was driving on the bridge over the San Joaquin River, near Friant Road and North Fork. The driver crossed the center line and slammed into a Toyota Corolla.

Two people in the Toyota suffered serious injuries in the accident. The driver of the truck was also badly hurt. All three were taken to a local hospital.

Officials are investigating the cause of the crash.

Man from Visalia Drives Car off Bridge and into a Canal

August 21, 2011- A driver of a Toyota Corolla drove off a bridge, in Ivanhoe, and into a canal on Sunday at 6:15 PM. John Alvarado, of Visalia, and his passenger were unharmed by the crash.

Alvarado was attempting to make a turn from Charter Oak Drive onto a small bridge at Road 180, but went into the water instead. A tow truck was able to remove the car from the canal after it floated about a quarter mile from where it had entered the water.

Alvarado was arrested by the CHP for driving under the influence.

Highway 99 Crash Between Goshen and Traver

August 13, 2011- A crash Saturday night was reported on southbound Highway 99 at Avenue 328, about 15 minutes from Visalia, between Goshen and Traver.

A driver of a white 1996 Toyota Corolla, Henry Carrillo, III, told police he fell asleep at the wheel and the automobile veered right onto the shoulder of the highway and hit a tree, at around 8 PM.

It was reported that Carrillo suffered a broken right arm and hand lacerations. One of the passengers, Henry Carrillo, Jr., broke his left arm and had lacerations to his head. While Marina Carrillo, the third passenger in the vehicle, complained of neck and back pain. All three victims were taken by ambulance to Kaweah Delta hospital for treatment.

According to the CHP alcohol did not play a part in this crash.
