April 9 wrongful death accident in Fresno County: victims identified

On April 9 Geraldine Gardina and Richard Gardina of Oakhurst were killed in a wrongful death accident with a big rig in Fresno County. Reportedly the big rig was traveling west on Lincoln Avenue when Geraldine Gardina ran a stop sign and entered the path of the big rig. She was driving a pickup truck southbound on Cornelia Avenue at the time. The driver of the big rig was unable to stop and hit the Gardinas' pickup. April 9 fatal pedestrian accident in Fowler

On April 9 Sage Corpus was killed in a hit and run pedestrian accident in Fowler on South Avenue near DeWolf Avenue. Reportedly Corpus was walking along the shoulder of South Avenue with four of his friends when an eastbound pickup truck crossed the westbound lane onto the shoulder and hit Corpus and another boy. Corpus died as a result of the accident and the other victim was taken to the hospital with a cut and dislocated kneecap. 12 year old Sage Corpus of Fowler killed by truck

April 9, 2010--Last night's fatal accident near Fowler in Fresno County killed 12 year old Fowler resident Sage Corpus.  He had been walking along the shoulder of South Avenue near DeWolf in a group of five pedestrians when 2 of the boys were hit by a 1988 Isuzu pick-up which was then abandoned at the scene.

April 9 motorcycle accident on Highway 65 near Porterville

On April 9 two people were injured when a vehicle hit a motorcycle on Highway 65 near Porterville. Reportedly the car hit the motorcycle on Highway 65 near Avenue 2 around 8:30 am. The motorcyclist was air lifted to a trauma hospital. The driver of the car was also hospitalized.

April 9 wrongful death accident on Lincoln Avenue in Fresno

On April 9 two people were killed in a wrongful death accident on Lincoln Avenue in Fresno. The accident happened between a big rig and a pickup truck. Reportedly the big rig was traveling westbound on Lincoln Avenue. The pickup truck was southbound on Cornelia Avenue when it ran a stop sign in front of the big rig. The driver of the big rig was unable to stop in time. The pickup burst into flames and the two occupants died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the big rig was hospitalized.
