Man Dies After Crash on Motorcycle in Squaw Valley

January 31, 2012- A man on a motorcycle died in a crash Tuesday night, in Squaw Valley, northeast of Fresno. The accident happened at about 6:30 PM.

The motorcyclist was riding a Yamaha cruiser-style bike westbound on Ruth Hill Road, near Ennis Road. The motorcycle went off the narrow roadway, and hit a fence. The man was thrown from the Yamaha.

The rider suffered major injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died.

The CHP have reported that it was possible that an approaching vehicle drifted into the motorcyclist's lane, causing him to drive off the road to avoid getting hit.

The collision remains under investigation.

March 7 fatal accident in Squaw Valley kills two

An accident that occurred on March 7 near Squaw Valley has claimed the life of Lila Carreon. According to reports a stolen Subaru hit a utility pole on George Smith Road near Highway 180  near Squaw Valley on March 7. James King was killed in that accident. Four people were in the vehicle at the time of the accident. One of the passengers in that vehicle, Lila Carreon, died on March 18 from injuries that had resulted from the accident. The driver of the vehicle was arrested right after the accident on suspicion of driving under the influence. No further information is available at this time.
