Big Rig Accident on Highway 58, in Kern County, East of Keene

December 2, 2014- A semi truck collision caused traffic delays in Kern County, on Tuesday.  The big rig accident occurred on Highway 58, near the Keene scales, at about 6 AM.

The CHP reported that a tractor-trailer was involved in the crash that took place on westbound Highway 58 at the Highway 202 off-ramp, east of Keene.  The big rig jacked-knifed in the incident, and blocked both lanes for more than two hours.

There was heavy rain in the area during that time and could have contributed to the crash.

Big Rig Shuts Down Highway 99 in Bakersfield

February 28, 2014- On Friday morning a semi truck caused southbound Highway 99 traffic major delays, after crash, in Bakersfield, California.

The rainy roads most likely contributed to the conditions in the accident, where the semi jack-knifed on the freeway, near Rosedale Highway.

It is reported that traffic was slow from 7th Standard on to Rosedale, and also on Airport Drive.

Vehicles were told to avoid the area after the collision, because of the backup, but the roadways are clear now.

No further information is known at this time.

Semi Truck Crash on Highway 99 and 58 Shut Down Freeway in Bakersfield

February 28, 2014- A semi truck crash shut down a part of both Highway 99 and Highway 58 in Bakersfield, California on Friday morning.  The accident occurred at about 8:20 AM, on an overpass of Highway 58 east.

CHP have reported that the driver of the big rig was merging from southbound Hwy 99, to eastbound Hwy 58.  The officer said the tractor-trailer was driving too fast for the rainy road conditions, and swerved along both sides of the freeway, before jack-knifing and catching on fire.

The semi was dangling off the overpass above Highway 99.  The freeway was closed, because of plummeting debris.

It was said that 2-3 other cars were involved in the collision, but no one was hurt.

Caltrans will come in to inspect the overpass to make sure it is safe to drive on before vehicles can use that part of the highway again.

Issues still remaining to be investigated include determining the speed of the big rig, whether road conditions may have contributed to this accident, and whether the facts of this accident as reported are accurate.  If you would like these issues investigated further then please call Attorney John Rozier at 559-713-0159.  www.nelsonrozier.com
