November 17 train accident in Oakdale
On November 17 there was an accident involving a train and a car in Oakdale. Reportedly the vehicle was eastbound on J Street near Yosemite Avenue when it was hit by the southbound train. Only minor injuries were reported as a result of the accident. No further details are available at this time.

October 22 Modesto accident on Briggsmore Avenue
On October 22 a car went airborn and crashed while driving on Briggsmore Avenue near McHenry Avenue in Modesto. Reportedly the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when her vehicle went airborn and flipped and hit two parked cars. The driver and her passenger were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
October 20 Highway 99 big rig accident kills one
On October 20 there was an accident on Highway 99 in Modesto involving a big rig and 4 other vehicles that killed one person. Reportedly the big rig failed to stop for slowing traffic and then triggered a five-vehicle, chain-reaction accident. The driver of a Nissan Frontier was declared dead at the scene of the accident. A passenger in the Nissan is reported to have suffered major injuries. Four other people are reported to have suffered minor injuries. The five cars had slowed down near the Carpenter Road-Briggsmore Avenue overpass for an unknown reason when the big rig failed to stop in time hitting the Nissan and pushing it into the other vehicles.

October 19 fatal ATV accident in Stanislaus County
On October 19 William Robert Clark was killed when he crashed his ATV in Stanislaus National Forest. Reportedly the Sonora resident was on an ATV trail when he passed two other ATV riders. His high speed prevented him from properly negotiating a right-hand turn and he went flying down a mountainside. While he was wearing a helmet, Clark died from head injuries.

October 9 accident in Ceres
On October 9 three people suffered injuries after an accident in Ceres. According to reports the driver of a stolen Toyota Camry refused to pull over for the cops. He then proceeded to run a red light at Central Avenue and Whitmore Road. The stolen vehicle then hit a car with 2 women inside. The driver of the Camry and the 2 women all suffered injuries and had to be removed from the vehicle. All three were treated at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto and were listed in stable condition.

September 27 fatal accident near Newman in Stanislaus County
On September 27 Alonzo Ibarra was killed after crashing his car into an irrigation canal. The accident happened on Hallowell Road in Stanislaus County near Newman. According to reports Ibarra was westbound on Hallowell Road and his friend Roberto Haro in the passenger seat when he went through a T-intersection at Draper Road. His vehicle then hit an embankment and flipped over into the canal. Haro was luckily able to escape through the broken windshield, but unfortunately Ibarra was not able to get out of the vehicle. Ibarra was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
September 28 pedestrian accident in Turlock
On September 28 a teenage boy was injured in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident near Turlock in Stanislaus County. According to reports the boy was hit by a tan pickup that left after hitting the boy. While the boy seemed to only have suffered minor injuries he was taken via air to a local hospital as an extra precaution. It turns out he suffered minor to moderate injuries. September 21 wrongful death pedestrian accident in Modesto
On September 21 Lorna Jean Holbrook was killed after being hit by a car in Modesto. According to reports Holbrook was crossing Yosemite Boulevard in Modesto when she was hit by an oncoming vehicle. The driver of the vehicle drove away from the scene of the accident. The death of Holbrook marks the 13th fatality in Stanislaus County this year from a pedestrian or bicycle versus vehicle accident.

May 10 Modesto accident on Orangeburg Avenue injures 12-year-old boy
On May 10 a 12-year-old boy was seriously injured in an accident on West Orangeburg Avenue in Modesto. reportedly a pickup truck hit a BMW on the passenger side trapping the boy in the vehicle. The driver of the BMW and another passenger walked away with minor injuries. The driver of the pickup was not injured. The pickup had gone three feet into the BMW, trapping the boy, and requiring emergency crews to remove the roof and dashboard of the car to free him. March 19 girl critically injured after falling down stairs in Sonora
On March 19 a two-year-old girl was critically injured after falling down a flight of stairs in Sonora. Reportedly she fell down about seven steps in a Cottage Court home. When a police officer arrived she was unconscious and not breathing. The officer was able to revive her through CPR. She was taken to Sonora Regional Medical Center and then air lifted to University Medical Center in Sacramento. March 6 deadly pedestrian accident in Oakdale
On March 6 Michael Harrell was killed in a deadly pedestrian accident in Oakdale. Reportedly Harrell was hit by a car on West F Street. He was not in a crosswalk. Harrell was also reported to have been intoxicated at the time of the accident. He was taken to Doctors Medical Center and placed on life support. February 23 wrongful death in Turlock pedestrian accident
On February 23 Charles Arnold was killed in a wrongful death pedestrian accident on Olive Avenue in Turlock. Arnold was hit by a Honda Pilot driven by Paulette Field while crossing North Olive Avenue at Wayside Drive. Reportedly he was in the crosswalk near the sidewalk. Field saw him and braked but was unable to stop in time. The passenger side front bumper of her car hit Arnold. He was taken to Emanuel Medical Center and later pronounced dead. Field claims that she was unable to see Arnold due to the dark and rainy conditions. Officials claim that Field was driving between 35 and 40 mph in a 30 mph zone and will msot likely be cited for driving too quickly for the conditions. February 21 Highway 120-108 rollover accident
On February 21 a pickup truck was involved in a rollover accident on Highway 120-108 near Oakdale. Reportedly the truck rolled several times before coming to a rest in the westbound lanes. There were two people in the car. One was treated for mild to moderate injuries, and the other was not injuried. February 12 wrongful death bicycle accident in Waterford
On February 12 Ashley Henderson was hit by a car while riding her bicycle in what turned out to be a wrongful death accident in Waterford on Western Avenue and Highway 132. Henderson was crossing Highway 132 at Western Avenue when a pickup truck traveling westbound on Highway 132 hit her. Reportedly she was thrown from the bike onto the hood of the truck. She was taken to a Modesto hospital with major injuries to her head and upper body. She died the next day.
