Two-Vehicle Collision on Stonewood Drive in Los Banos

August 28, 2014- A car accident at the intersection of Stonewood Drive and Overland Avenue happened in Los Banos.  The automobile crash occurred on Thursday, at about 2:30 PM.

Jacquelyn Garcia, 40 years old, was driving and did not stop at the posted stop sign, at the intersection of Stonewood and Overland Ave.  Her vehicle collided with another car driven by Diane Escobedo Cortez, 46 years old.

A 23 year old female passenger, in one of the vehicles, sustained injury and was taken to Mermorial Hospital, Los Banos.  No other injuries were reported.

Car Collision in Los Banos on Stonewood Drive

July 27, 2014- A car accident took place in Merced County, on Sunday.  The vehicle collision happened in Los Banos, at about 2:28 PM.

A 2009 Toyota Corolla was driving north on Stonewood Drive, when at the Vineyard Drive intersection it ran a stop sign.  A silver Mitsubishi Galant that was eastbound on Vineyard collided with the Toyota.

Two occupants in the Corolla, the driver and one male passenger, fled on foot after the crash.  A third occupant, Priscilla Saiz, 27 years old, sustained major injuries, and was taken to Memorial Hospital, Los Banos.  She was then airlifted to a hospital in Modesto, for treatment.

Officers quickly caught and arrested the male passenger in the Toyota.  Mahad Abdirashid Hussien, 18 years old, of San Jose.  He had an outstanding warrant and was wanted for auto theft.  The driver has not been caught yet.

No information on whether anyone was hurt in the Mitsubishi.
