Update: Fresno County Fatal Car Accident near Reedley

May 12, 2014- The car accident that happened in Fresno County, on Monday, now looks like it might be a homicide.  The collision occurred near Reedley, on Buttonwillow Avenue, and was reported at approximately 5:30 AM.  Officers now report that the crash happened just after 12 AM.

The Fresno County Coroner's Office announced that both men sustained gunshot wounds before the crash.  The men have been identified as Joseph Blunt, 38 years old, of Santa Clara.  And George Duarte, 40 years old, of Reedley.

Fresno County Fatal Car Accident near Reedley

May 12, 2014- An automobile collision leaves two men dead, in Fresno county, early Monday.  The car accident occurred near Reedley, at approximately 5:30 AM.

A 38 year old man from Santa Clara, and a 40 year old man from Reedley were driving southbound on Buttonwillow Avenue.  They lost control of the vehicle, just south of Jefferson Avenue, where it overturned, then hit a tree.

Both men were killed in the collision.  

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
