September 3, 2015- A single-vehicle accident leads to the death of a 13 year old boy, in Kings County. The car collision happened in Hanford, at around 3:30 AM.
Jimmie Lee Love III, 20, was speeding north in a 2006 Toyota Camry, on 9 1/4 Avenue, north of Lacey Boulevard. In the automobile were passengers; Javier Hernandez, Adam Aviles, 13, and a 15 year old boy.
Love lost control of the Toyota and the vehicle swerved off the east side of the road. The Camry hit a utility pole and rolled several times, before coming to rest in a field.
Aviles suffered fatal injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The 15 year old teen was also taken by helicopter to CRMC in Fresno, having sustained major injuries. Hernandez received minor injuries and was taken to Adventist Medical Center for treatment.
After the crash Love fled the scene. He was later apprehended Thursday afternoon. He was arrested for hit and run, vehicular manslaughter, and other charges.

Silage Truck and Car Collide, One Killed, near Hanford, on 14th Avenue
On Thursday, August 27, 2015, a fatal semi truck accident took place in Kings County. The big rig collision occurred near Hanford, at approximately 4:30 PM.
A 22 year old Hanford man was driving a Honda Civic south on 14th Avenue. A silage truck, driven by Mario Duran, of Corcoran was headed north on 14th Avenue.
The big rig slowed and started to turn left onto Fargo Avenue, without yielding to the automobile. The Honda smashed into the front corner of the tractor-trailer.
The Civic's driver suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno. He later died in the hospital.
Duran was not harmed in the crash.

Big Rig Accident Kills One, on 14th Avenue & Fargo Avenue, in Kings County
August 27, 2015- A young man died in a car collision with a semi truck, on Thursday, near Hanford. The Kings County big rig accident happened on 14th Avenue, at about 4:30 PM.
Mario Duran, of Corcoran, was driving a 1994 Peterbilt silage truck, traveling north on 14th Avenue. At the same time a Honda Civic, driven by a Hanford man, 22, was southbound on 14th Ave.
The tractor-trailer attempted to turn left onto Fargo Avenue, and failed to yield to the Honda, which had the right-of-way. The automobile crashed into the front corner of the big rig.
The car's driver sustained severe injuries. He was taken by helicopter to Community Regional Medical Center, for treatment. He died from his trauma in the hospital.
Duran was not injured.

Kings County Semi Truck Crash Ends Fatally, on 14th Avenue, near Hanford

A Honda Civic automobile, driven by a 22 year old Hanford man, was headed south on 14th Avenue, near Fargo Avenue. A Peterbilt tractor-trailer, driven by Mario Duran, 53, of Corcoran, was traveling north on 14th Ave.
The silage truck reportedly turned left, right in front of the car, and the two vehicles collided.

Police Vehicle Collision in Hanford, on Irwin Street
August 19, 2015- a patrol car accident took place in Kings County, on Wednesday. The police vehicle collision occurred in Hanford, at about 11:50 AM.
A Hanford Police officer was traveling north on Irwin Street, in his squad car, when a driver in an automobile ahead of him stopped suddenly in the middle of the roadway. The driver then put his vehicle in reverse, started to back up, and then struck the patrol car.
No one was reported to have been injured.
The incident is under investigation.

Bicycle and Car Collision on Lacey Boulevard, in Hanford
On Saturday, July 18, 2015, a bicyclist was hurt in a vehicle collision in Hanford. The car accident occurred near Jessie Street and Lacey Boulevard, at around 7:50 PM.
Eduardo Olivera was driving his vehicle south on Jessie Street and attempted to turn right onto Lacey Boulevard. He stopped at the posted stop sign and entered the intersection. As the car turned a bike, ridden by Raymond Garcia, was traveling on the wrong side of the roadway along Lacey Blvd.
The bicycle hit the car and Garcia was ejected and fell into the street.
Garcia suffered injuries and was taken by ambulance to Adventist Medical Center.
Olivera was not hurt in the collision.

Head-on Truck Accident on Lacey Boulevard, in Hanford
July 20, 2015- A head-on truck collision occurred in Kings County, on Monday. The vehicle accident happened in Hanford, at around 12:40 PM.
Alicia Rubio, 53, was driving a 2004 Chevy Colorado pickup, traveling west on Lacey Boulevard. For an unknown reason the Chevrolet veered into the oncoming lane of traffic and crashed head-on into a 1997 Ford F-150.
Rubio sustained minor injuries and did not need medical treatment. Her son Rodrigo Rubio, 16, was a passenger in the pickup truck. He suffered major injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.

Kings County Multiple Automobile Crashes on Highway 198 Caused by Fog
February 3, 2015- Multiple vehicle collisions occurred near Hanford as a result of early morning fog, on Tuesday. The Kings County car accidents all happened on Highway 198, with the first crash near 14th Avenue, at about 7:45 AM.
The automobiles collisions that happened on the eastbound highway, between Lemoore and Hanford, were all fog-related, according to the California Highway Patrol. At the time of the twenty crashes, that involved at least 42 vehicles, visibility was at 600 to 1200 feet.
At least five people were injured in the incidents. The victims injuries were from minor to moderate. They were taken to the hospital for treatment of their wounds.

Motorcycle Accident in Hanford Kills Visalia Man on Excelsior Avenue
February 15, 2015- A Visalia man was killed in a motorcycle collision, in Kings County. The vehicle accident took place in Hanford, Sunday night.
Jimmy Dean Slayton, 54 years old, was riding a 2009 Harley Davidson, traveling west on Excelsior Avenue, near 16th Avenue. The bike began to veer into the eastbound lanes through a curve in the roadway.
The motorcycle crashed into an asphalt curb edge, and Slayton was thrown from the Harley. The CHP reported that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Slayton died at the scene of the collision.

The four-mile stretch of the eastbound Highway 198, between Lemoore and Hanford was the area of the incidents, which started near 14th Avenue.
Officers reported that at the time of the collisions motorists could only see between 600 and 1,200 feet in front of their automobiles.

DUI Collision on Highway 41 near Hanford Involving Paso Robles Man

October 26, 2014- A woman was killed in a rollover SUV collision, in Kings County. The vehicle accident occurred on Sunday, in Hanford, at about 5:18 PM.
Brittany Perez, was driving a 2003 Chevy Tahoe SUV south on 16th Avenue, at a high rate of speed. Patsy Perez and Pedro Tafolla were passengers in the Chevrolet.
The Sport Utility Vehicle veered into the northbound lane and ont the shoulder on the east side of the road. The driver over-corrected, swerved to the right and lost control of the Chevy. The Tahoe crossed the roadway and went onto the west shoulder, before it overturned into a cotton field.

October 21, 2014- A vehicle accident on Highway 41, in Kings County, injures eight people. The minivan collision happened on Tuesday, near Hanford, at about 4 PM.
Norman Silveira, of Clovis, was stopped in the eastbound lane of Fremont Avenue, at the intersection of Highway 41, in a 2012 Ford F150 pickup truck. A 2008 Chevy Uplander minivan, driven by Lorenzo Lopez, of Huron, was traveling south on Highway 41.
After stopping the Ford truck drove into the intersection, into the path of the Chevrolet. Lopez was not able to stop in time and the two vehicle collided.
The minivan rolled over from the impact of the crash, and Rogelio Garcia, a passenger in the Uplander, was ejected.
Juan Alvarez, also a passenger in the van suffered major injuries and was flown by helicopter to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno. Lopez and the remaining passengers; Crisotomo Perez, Rogelio Garcia, Santos Velasquez, Mateo Verbes, and Elizara Mendez, all of Huron, sustained injuries ranging from minor to major. Tractor-Trailer Accident on Highway 198 and 43 in Hanford
September 18, 2014- A big rig collision happened in Kings County, on Thursday. The semi truck accident occurred on Highway 198, in Hanford, at approximately 5 PM.
A tractor-trailer was traveling westbound on Highway 198, near the intersection of Highway 43. The driver reportedly lost control of the semi, and the vehicle overturned. The big rig blocked traffic on the highway intersection for hours while clean up was attempted.

Van Collides With Parked Car in Hanford, on 11 1/2 Avenue

Amy Espinoza, 37 years old, was driving her van south on 11 1/2 Avenue. The van swerved off the roadway, and hit a tree on the east side. After the vehicle struck the tree, it then collided with a car that was parked in the driveway of a home.
The impact of the collision sent the parked car into the house and caused moderate damage to the garage.

Motorcyclist Killed in Vehicle Collision on Grangeville Blvd in Hanford
July 22, 2014- A motorcycle crash leaves one fatally wounded, in Hanford. The Kings County accident occurred on Tuesday, at approximately 5:15 AM.
Jaime Vargas, 50 years old, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet on Grangeville Boulevard traveling east toward 16th Avenue. A 49 year old man was riding his 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle west on Grangeville Blvd, approaching the same intersection as the Chevy.
The California Highway Patrol reported that Vargas started to slow down to make a left-hand turn onto 16th Avenue. As the Chevy turned, it drove directly into the path of the Harley.
The motorcyclist tried to stop before colliding with the other vehicle, but he was too late. The bike crashed into the right side of the car.
The biker suffered serious injuries in the collision and was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his wounds.

Fatality in Highway 41 Big Rig Accident near Hanford
July 1, 2014- A vehicle collision between a pickup and a semi truck ends in one fatality on Highway 41, in Kings County. The big rig accident took place on Tuesday, at approximately 8:30 AM.
Levi Mooney of Corcoran, was driving in a 2001 Chevy Silverado, northbound on Highway 41, near Quail Avenue.
For an unknown reason the Chevrolet pickup truck swerved into the southbound lane of the highway. Mooney drove right into a semi truck, driven by Robert Brown, 63 years old, who was headed south on the roadway.
Mooney crashed into the left tires of the big rig's trailer. As a result of the accident Mooney died at the scene.
Brown is reported to have received no injuries.

Head-on Automobile Collision on Highway 41 in Kings County
July 2, 2014- A car accident, leads to fatality, in Kings County, on Wednesday. The collision occurred near Hanford, California, on Highway 41, at about 7:30 PM.
The CHP reported that a 40 year old man, from Palmdale, was driving a 1987 Honda Civic, traveling south on Highway 41. While Armando Paz Rea, of Hanford, and his passenger Socorro Zepeda, were headed north on Highway 41, in a 1993 Honda Civic.
The driver of the 1987 Civic drifted into the northbound lane of traffic, while attempting to pass several cars in the southbound lane. Rea saw the Honda coming towards him, and tried to swerve out of the way, onto the right shoulder, but was too late. The two vehicles hit head-on.
The driver of the 1987 Honda was thrown from his automobile. He was fatally wounded and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Armando Rea suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno. His passenger Zepeda sustained minor injuries.
