Vehicle Accident Ends in Fatality, and Starts Wildfire, in Mariposa County, on Harris Road

August 20, 2015- A car crash in Mariposa County, ends in fatality, on Thursday night.  The vehicle accident also sparked a wildfire, northeast of Fresno.

A 1986 Volkswagen Microbus, driven by John Pool, 68, was traveling on Harris Road, near Highway 49.  For an unknown reason the VW lost control, went off the road, and down an embankment.

Pool's van rolled over onto its roof and the vehicle then caught fire.  It burned 3 to 5 acres until emergency personnel put it out.

Pool was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.

August 14 Highway 140 wrongful death accident in Mariposa County

On August 14 Deana Smith, Michael Smith, and Sharon Law were all tragically killed in a head-on collision on Highway 140 in Mariposa County. According to reports Marissa Fuqua was eastbound on Highway 140 when she crossed over the middle line while attempting to navigate a curve. Fuqua's vehicle first hit a motorcycle and then a Ford Escape. The two people on the motorcycle, Deana and Michael Smith, were killed along with the driver of the Escape, Sharon Law. May 11 highway 49 accident in Mariposa County

On May 11 four-vehicles were involved in an accident on Highway 49 near Bootjack in Mariposa County. The accident happened near Brooks Road.Major injuries resulted from the accident. No further details are available at this time. www.nelsonrozier.com
