Pickup Truck and Automobile Collide near Terra Bella, at Road 224 and Avenue 88

May 6, 2015- A vehicle accident near Terra Bella injured two people, on Wednesday morning.  The Tulare County pickup truck collision happened at Avenue 88 and Road 224, south of Porterville.

A Terra Bella man, 64 years old, was driving a Honda Civic westbound on Avenue 88.  The driver came to a stop at the posted stop sign, and then drove the car into the intersection at Road 224.

The Honda was hit by a Ford F-250 pickup that was driven by a 36 year old man.  The Ford truck had been traveling northbound on Road 224 at the time of the crash.  The impact caused the pickup to drive into a dirt field and overturn.

A Porterville man, 22, who was a passenger in the Ford, was thrown from the vehicle.

The two victims in the F-250 truck suffered moderate injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.  The Honda Civic driver, and his two passenger were uninjured in collision.

Tulare County Vehicle Collision on Avenue 88 & Road 224, near Terra Bella

San Joaquin Valley Automobile Accident Lawyer John Rozier has the following update; On Wednesday, May 6, 2015, a pickup truck collision left two injured.  The Tulare County vehicle crash occurred near Terra Bella during the morning hours.

A Honda Civic, driven by a Terra Bella man, 64, was traveling west on Avenue 88.  The driver stopped at the stop sign that was posted at the intersection of Road 224.  The Honda then drove into the intersection, and was hit by a Ford F-250 truck that was driving north on Road 224.

A 36 year old Terra Bella man was the driver of the pickup truck .  The pickup swerved into a dirt field, upon impact with the Civic, and rolled over onto its roof.  The passenger, a 22 year old Porterville man, was ejected from the truck.  While the driver had to be rescued from the vehicle by emergency crews.

The two victims in the Ford sustained moderate injuries.  They were taken by ambulance to the hospital.

The other driver, and his two passengers were not hurt in the incident.

Four Vehicle Pileup Accident on Highway 152, near Los Banos

Visalia Senior Citizen Abuse Lawyer John L. Rozier has the following collision update; On Monday, September 8, 2014, a multiple car accident ends in one fatality.  The four-vehicle crash took place on Highway 152, near Los Banos, at about 7:30 AM.

Ronald Tingley, was riding a 2006 Honda Goldwing motorcycle westbound on Highway 152, near the Romero Visitors Center.  A 2010 Honda Civic, driven by Julia Felice, of Salinas, was traveling east on the highway, when she lost control of her vehicle.

The Civic drove over the center median, and into the oncoming westbound traffic.  The car collided with a 1982 Datsun 280ZX, driven by Kirk Goodall, of San Mateo.  The Honda then smashed into the motorcycle driven by Tingley.  Tingley was thrown from the bike.

A semi truck driven by Jhalman Nurpuri, of Manteca, tried to avoid the collision, but the big rig struck the Honda Civic.

Tingley was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Felice sustained minor injuries and was taken to Memorial Hospital Los Banos for treatment.  The others involved were reported to have no injuries.

Automobile Accident near Los Banos on Center Avenue

August 26, 2014- A fatal automobile collision happened in the Los Banos area, on Tuesday, at about 7:45 PM.  The car accident killed a Dos Palos man, and injured two others.

The 27 year old driver of a Honda Civic, was traveling northbound on Center Avenue at a high rate of speed.  As the Honda drove north of Ione Street, the driver lost control and the vehicle flipped over.  All three victims in the Civic were ejected from the car.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passengers in the Civic; Andrew Wagner, and Mark Solis, suffered serious injuries.  They were both airlifted to Doctors Hospital and Memorial North Hospital, in Modesto.

Car Accident Damages Social Security Building in Visalia

July 19, 2014- A vehicle accident leads to a ruptured gas line and damaged building, in Tulare County.  The car collision happened in Visalia, on Saturday, at about 11:15 PM.

A black, 2007 Honda Civic was reported to have been speeding with another vehicle, eastbound on Noble Avenue.  The automobile tried to make a turn into the Walmart parking lot.  Instead the Civic, driven by Juan Rodriguez, 22 years old, drove straight and struck a gas line and the Social Security Administration building on Noble Ave.

Rodriguez and one passenger were in the Honda, and neither were hurt in the crash.  Damages for the building were said to have been around $5,000.

Officers reported that speeding was determined to have caused the accident.

Head-on Automobile Collision on Highway 41 in Kings County

July 2, 2014- A car accident, leads to fatality, in Kings County, on Wednesday.  The collision occurred near Hanford, California, on Highway 41, at about 7:30 PM.

The CHP reported that a 40 year old man, from Palmdale, was driving a 1987 Honda Civic, traveling south on Highway 41.  While Armando Paz Rea, of Hanford, and his passenger Socorro Zepeda, were headed north on Highway 41, in a 1993 Honda Civic.

The driver of the 1987 Civic drifted into the northbound lane of traffic, while attempting to pass several cars in the southbound lane.  Rea saw the Honda coming towards him, and tried to swerve out of the way, onto the right shoulder, but was too late.  The two vehicles hit head-on.

The driver of the 1987 Honda was thrown from his automobile.  He was fatally wounded and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Armando Rea suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.  His passenger Zepeda sustained minor injuries.

Highway 99 Roll Over Collision in Bakersfield and Route 223

June 8, 2014- A roll over car accident, which happened on Highway 99, ends in fatality in Kern County.  The collision occurred in Bakersfield, on Sunday, at about 8:46 AM.

Raul Garcia, 19 years old, was driving a 2000 Honda Civic northbound on Highway 99, in the area of state Route 223/Bear Mountain Boulevard.  The Honda drifted off the highway on the right side of the road.  The car overturned and hit a tree along the dirt shoulder of the freeway.

The passenger in the Civic, David Cisneros, died at the scene of the crash.  Garcia was seriously injured and taken to Kern Medical Center for treatment.

Fresno County Car Accident Ends in Fatality on Alta Avenue

May 4, 2014- A two vehicle collision ends fatally for one child, in Fresno County, on Sunday.  The accident took place between Dinuba and Reedley, a little after 4 PM.

A Honda Civic, carrying a woman and young boy, was northbound on Alta Avenue.  The Honda stopped at the 4-way stop sign at the intersection of Alta and Dinuba Avenue.  The driver then began to turn left, when a white pickup truck that was driving south on Alta Ave. ran the stop sign.  The truck smashed into the Civic on the passenger side.

The boy died at the scene of the crash.  He has been identified as Miguel Perez Jr, 10 years old.  Three other people involved in the collision were hurt, and taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Kern County Collision near Lamont ends Fatally

March 24, 2014- A two vehicle accident near Lamont, south of Bakersfield, leaves one dead and others injured.  The crash happened Monday afternoon, at the intersection of Edison Road and DiGiorgio Road, in Kern County.

A Honda Civic, driven by Enrique Monarez, 38 years old from Bakersfield, was driving on Edison Rd.  He ran a stop sign, and the Civic broadsided a red, Nissan truck that was driven by Jesus Coronado, 64, of Arvin, who had no stop sign on DiGiorgio Rd.

The impact of the collision caused the Nissan to be pushed off the road and then the vehicle flipped over.  A passenger in the pickup, San Juana Coronado, 48 years old, also of Arvin, was ejected during the crash and died from her wounds in the hospital.

Jesus Coronado sustained seriously injuries, while another passenger in the Nissan, Doroteo McCain, received minor injuries.  The Honda's driver, Enrique Monarez, was moderately hurt in the accident.

Update: Bakersfield Crash on Stockdale Highway Fatality

March 8, 2014- David Aggio the man who was killed in the car crash on Stockdale Highway and Gosford Road, in Bakersfield on Saturday, was a parole officer for California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in the Eureka Parole Unit.  The accident happened at a little before 12:00 PM.

The collision occurred when the driver of a white Honda Civic, Rodolfo Contreras, lost control of his vehicle and passed through the intersection and over the center divider.  He crashed head-on into the northbound blue Ford Explorer, driven by David Aggio.

Aggio was killed instantly.  His wife, who was a passenger in the Ford, sustained minor injuries in the crash.  Two other people, including Contreras, were also injured in the collision.


Officials report that 22 year old Contreras may have been under the influence of drugs during the accident.  But further investigation is still required in this fatality.

It is reported that the Stockdale Highway and Gosford Road intersection is one of the busiest and accident prone intersections in Bakersfield.  With 14 accidents in 2012, and 12 in 2013.

Bakersfield Car Crash on Stockdale Highway Fatality

March 8, 2014- A fatal car accident takes the life of one person, in Bakersfield on Saturday.  The crash happened a little before 12:00 PM.

The driver of a white Honda Civic, 22 year old Rodolfo Contreras, was driving south on Coffee Road at Stockdale Highway, and tried to make it through a yellow light, when he lost control of his car.


The Honda hit the center divider and crossed over into oncoming traffic on Gosford Road, smashing into a blue Ford Explorer, driven by David Aggio, 54 years old, of Rohnert Park.  Aggio died at the scene of the accident.

A silver Toyota 4Runner was also involved in the crash, but no one in that vehicle was hurt.


Contreras, and a David Aggio's wife, who was a passenger in the Ford, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The police continue to investigate the cause of the fatality.

Car Slams into Almond Orchard near Highway 99 in Pixley

January 18, 2012- an early morning crash occurred east of Highway 99, in Pixley. The accident happened on Wednesday, at about 5:12 AM.

A man driving a Honda Civic was traveling on Avenue 96, when he lost control of the car. The Civic slammed into a tree in an almond orchard that was at the side of the road.

The impact of the collision caused major damage to the vehicle.

The man was seriously injured and had to be airlifted to the hospital.

Fog Related Crash in Hanford on Kansas Avenue

January 8, 2012- A fog related crash causes a three car pile-up, in Hanford, west of Visalia. The accident happened on Sunday, at about 12:25 AM.

Guillermo Miranda was traveling eastbound on Kansas Avenue, past 12th Avenue, when he tried to pass a slow moving Honda Accord in front of him.

Reports said that at the time of the crash, thick fog made it difficult to see past 500 feet.

As Miranda's Chevy moved into the opposing lane he saw a Honda Civic headed straight toward him. Miranda accelerated and tried to get around the Accord in time, but crashed into the front end of the Civic.

The impact of the collision caused the Chevy to spin around, and slammed into the left side of the Accord that he had been trying to pass.

Miranda suffered serious injuries, and his passenger, Angela Miranda, sustained moderate injuries. Both were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.

The three occupants of the Civic; Roman Martinez, Arnolfo Leon, and Maria Leon, of Delano, were also injured and taken to Community Regional Medical center, in Fresno.

The Accord's driver, Martha Calderon received minor injuries and sought medical attention on her own.

19 Year-Old Man Dies in Crash on Highway 43

January 12, 2012- A Corcoran man was killed in a crash Thursday, on Highway 43 near Laton, northwest of Visalia, at about 5:30 AM.

Andres Walle Escamilla, 19, was driving his Mazda Miata north, just past Cairo Avenue. He tried to pass a slow moving vehicle, and merged into oncoming traffic. He slammed head-on into a Nissan Altima, driven by Susan Pulido, of Merced.

The Miata continued on in the southbound lane, after colliding with the Nissan, and then hit a Honda Civic, driven by Alejandro Tapia, before finally stopping.


Escamilla was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Pulido suffered major injuries. She was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno for treatment.

Tapia was not injured in the collision.

The crash blocked traffic on the highway for over an hour before reopening.

Investigators are looking into how fast Escamilla was going and why he attempted to pass when other vehicles were in the southbound lane. The California Highway Patrol said that there was no fog, and the road was clear.

Drugs and alcohol are not considered to be factors in the crash.

Three Vehicle Crash on Santa Fe Drive in Merced

November 6, 2011- A three vehicle crash happened on Santa Fe Drive in Merced, Sunday morning.

A black Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on Santa Fe Drive headed towards Chestnut Lane at approximately 55 mph. The driver of the Honda didn’t see a stopped car in the road that was waiting to turn onto Chestnut Lane.


The Honda hit the Sentra, spun around and then collided with a truck.

The driver of the Honda received minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Medical Center.

Two Teens Hurt from Crash in Modesto

October 5, 2011- Two high school students were injured in a crash Wednesday morning, in Modesto north of Fresno.

A 17 year-old Ceres teen was driving a silver Honda Civic westbound on Scenic Drive at approximately 7:30 AM, with her 16 year-old passenger from Modesto.

For unexplained reasons, the driver lost control of the Honda and swerved into the eastbound traffic. The passenger side of the vehicle was broadsided by a blue Mitsubishi Eclipse.



The driver of the Honda suffered minor injuries and the passenger was seriously injured. They were taken to local hospitals.

The driver of the Eclipse, a Lodi resident, was not injured.

Officers said that speed and road conditions were believed to be factors in the accident. The street was slippery from an overnight rain storm.

Three Vehicle Collision on Highway 132

October 7, 2011- A crash between three vehicles leave at least two people hurt Friday afternoon on Highway 132, four miles west of Highway 99 and Modesto.

The accident happened at approximately 4:20 PM, between a Honda Civic, an Acura Integra, and another vehicle, near the intersection of Maze Boulevard and Stone Avenue.


One man was pinned in the Integra, and had to be rescued from the vehicle by emergency crews.

It is reported that one of the heavily damaged cars burst into flames, after the collision. But personnel were able to extinguish the fire before it engulfed the whole vehicle.

The man that was pinned and one other person were injured and taken to a Modesto hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

The crash closed Highway 132 in both directions for about an hour. It was opened to traffic at about 5:30 PM.

The collision remains under investigation. No other details about how the accident occurred are reported at this time.

Fatality Near Porterville after Woman is Struck by Two Vehicles

September 5, 2011- A Porterville woman died Monday night after being struck by two vehicles as she walked across the road, near Porterville, about 30 minutes from Visalia. The accident happened at about 9:20 PM, on Orange Belt Drive.

Sharon Nicholson, was standing within the northbound lane of Orange Belt Drive, north of Avenue 182, when a 2006 Dodge Durango, driven by Erica Sanchez of Porterville, traveling north hit her at about 50 mph.

Sanchez, tried to avoid the crash by slamming on her brakes and turning to the left, but was unable to avoid hitting Nicholson. The collision sent Nicholson in a northerly direction.

Sanchez parked her Dodge on the right shoulder, and as she got out a 1996 Honda Civic going 55 mph on Orange Belt Drive struck Nicholson.

The driver of the Civic, David Thavyvanh, also of Porterville, attempted to avoid Nicholson by swerving left but was unable to. Nicholson died at the scene of the crash.

It is unclear why Nicholson was in the road. The accident is under investigation.

Fatality on Road 60 Near Goshen

August 18, 2011- Maria Elena Gomez, was driving a 2011 Honda Civic late Thursday night when her car ran off the roadway and crashed into a fence east of Goshen. She suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene of the accident.

The crash occurred at Road 60, north of Avenue 308. Gomez was traveling southbound on Road 60 at about 10:25 PM, when the vehicle went off the road, colliding with the fence located in front of a house.

Gomez was the only occupant in the vehicle, and it is reported she was wearing her seatbelt. The CHP are investigating the crash, to determine why the car drifted off the roadway.
