Rain Causes Big Rig Accident on Highway 99, in Bakersfield

May 22,2015- A big rig accident occurred in Kern County, on Friday morning.  The semi truck collision happened in Bakersfield, on Highway 99 interchange.  Rain was reported to have played a factor in the crash.

The big rig driver lost control of his vehicle on the southbound Highway 99 interchange to eastbound Highway 58.  The tractor-trailer crashed into the side of the overpass, and part of the vehicle was hanging off the edge.  Some of the concrete was reported to have knocked off onto the freeway below.

The driver was not seriously injured.  Authorities said this accident was one of many, because of the wet roads.

December 26 fatal I-5 accident near Tuolumne Avenue

On December 26 a man was killed in a rollover accident on I-5. He was driving southbound near Tuolumne Avenue when the vehicle drifted, hit a median, and rolled. The car rolled several times and the man was thrown from the vehicle. Reportedly the weather was rainy at the time of the accident and neither alcohol or drugs appear to be a factor. http://www.nelsonrozier.com/

Rain in the forecast for the Valley

Rain is in the forecast for the Valley tonight, November 20. Motorists should use extreme caution when driving in the rain and adjust speeds accordingly. Just a week ago, on November 13 dozens of accidents were reported in Fresno due to the rainfall. Many were caused by motorists traveling too quickly and hydroplaning as they attempted to stop their vehicle. It is recommended that drivers leave for their destinations 5 minutes earlier than usual to avoid being in a hurry and driving at dangerous speeds. http://www.nelsonrozier.com/
