Febraury 5, 2012- A man was killed in a crash on Sunday, in Selma, at about 9:15 PM.
Francisco Marquez Santiago, of Selma, was southbound on McCall Avenue, south of Mountain View Avenue, in a 2000 Chevy Camaro. Santiago lost control of his car and drove off the east side of the road.
The Camaro hit several railroad ties and grapevines, and flipped over several times.
Santiago was thrown from the vehicle, and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Child Killed While Trying to Cross Street in Bakersfield
January 6, 2012- An 11 year-old boy was hit and killed Friday, in Bakersfield, at approximately 6 PM.
David De Santiago ran across the roadway of Brundage Lane, as traffic was oncoming. A 56 year-old man driving a pickup truck hit Santiago as he was in the street.
Santiago suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Kern Medical Center. He died at the hospital about an hour later.
The police reported that the driver was not cited in the crash.
