June 25 fatal accident near Porterville

On June 25 Evani Reyes-Morales was killed in an accident on Avenue 95 near Road 224 near Porterville in Tulare County. Reportedly Reyes-Morales crashed his Mitsubishi Eclipse into a tree in an olive grove. There were five passengers in the Eclipse at the time and all five escaped uninjured. The exact cause of the accident is unknown at this time.

June 5 accident in Porterville leaves four injured

On June 5 four people were injured in a crash on Henderson Avenue in Porterville. According to reports Pablo Alvarez was westbound on Henderson Avenue when he failed to stop at a red light at the Newcomb Street intersection. Alvarez’s car then hit the vehicle driven by Zeina Rocha. Alvarez and Rocha along with their respective passengers Jorge Martinez and Christian Reyes were taken to Sierra View District Hospital where they were treated for injuries. Alvarez, Rocha, and Reyes then were all transferred to hospitals in Fresno with serious injuries. Martinez was treated and released from Sierra View District Hospital. Alvarez was believed to be driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

February 2 Four-wheeler accident in Porterville

On February 2 Johnny Arias and his 11-year-old grandson Edward Hunt were injured when the four-wheeler they were on crashed near Porterville. Reportedly Arias was driving west on South Reservation Road at a high rate of speed with his grandson seated behind him when they began to pass a slower moving vehicle. The other vehicle then began to turn left. Arias swerved to the left to avoid an accident. The four-wheeler then left the roadway. The quad then hit a traffic sign and a barbed wire fence. Both Arias and Hunt were thrown from the quad. Neither person was wearing a helmet. They were both taken to Sierra View District Hospital to be treated for major injuries. Hunt was later taken via air to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.

December 5 wrongful death motorcycle accident in Porterville

On December 5 Anthony Silva was fatally injured in a wrongful death motorcycle accident on Gibbons Street in Porterville. According to reports Silva was riding his Yamaha motorcycle at a high rate of speed on Gibbons Avenue near F Street in Porterville. He lost control of the bike and hit a parked truck. Silva died as a result of the accident.

November 29 accident near Porterville in Tulare County

On November 29 Kevin Fitzgerald was injured in an accident on Road 208 near Porterville in Tulare County. According to reports Fitzgerald was traveling north on Road 208 near Avenue 184 when he drifted off the road and hit an olive tree. Reports said that he was not wearing a seat belt and was taken to Sierra View District hospital in Porterville to be treated for what were described as major injuries.

October 23 fatal pedestrian accident in Porterville

On October 23 a woman was killed after being hit by a car while walking near Route 190 near Road 200 in Porterville. Reportedly the woman was hit by an eastbound vehicle around 5:55 am. The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene of the accident. No further details are available at this time.

October 13 Porterville Accident

On October 13 there was an accident involving a car, a motorcycle, and a power pole in Porterville that sent one person to the hospital and killed the power in the area. Reportedly the accident happened at the intersection of Avenue 120 and Main Street in Porterville. One person was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center with major injuries. September 29 Porterville pedestrian accident victim identified

Bankston G. Brown has been identified as the man who died on September 29 after being hit by a car in Porterville. According to reports Brown was hit by a car while crossing Henderson Avenue near G Street. An investigation regarding the accident is still in progress.

September 29 pedestrian accident in Porterville ends in death

On September 29 a 91-year-old man was killed after being hit by a car while he was attempting to cross the street in Porterville. According to reports the man was  was walking across Henderson Avenue near the intersection at G Street when he was hit by a Chevy pickup. He was taken to a hospital in Porterville where he later died. No further details regarding the identity of the victim or cause of the accident are available at this time.

August 15 Portervilled rollover accident

On August 15 there was a rollover accident on Highway 65 in Porterville in Tulare County. According to reports a Ford Explorer was southbound on Highway 65 when he veered left and overturned. Investigators have concluded that a tire may have blown out on the vehicle causing the accident. The vehicle rolled several times before landing on its wheels. June 22 rollover accident near Porterville

On June 22 David Crouse was critically injured and three others suffered minor injuries in an accident on Road 256 near Porterville in Tulare County. According to reports, Crouse was driving a Peterbilt that was hauling two trailers when he hit a Toyota driven by Rosalinda Preciado. Preciado was attempting to turn right off of Road 256 at the time of the accident. The impact of the accident caused both the truck and the Toyota to rollover. Crouse was critically injured and was then taken via helicopter to Community Regional Medical Center. Preciado and her two passengers, L. Ellis and C. April 9 motorcycle accident on Highway 65 near Porterville

On April 9 two people were injured when a vehicle hit a motorcycle on Highway 65 near Porterville. Reportedly the car hit the motorcycle on Highway 65 near Avenue 2 around 8:30 am. The motorcyclist was air lifted to a trauma hospital. The driver of the car was also hospitalized.

March 21 Porterville boy injured by family car

On March 21 a Porterville boy was injured when he was hit by a family member's car. The five-year-old boy was playing in the yard when he was hit by a car belonging to a member of his family. He suffered head injuries and was flown to Community Regional Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.
