Update: Fatal Car Accident Near Lindsay on Highway 137

May 30, 2014- The Visalia man that was killed in the car collision which occurred in Tulare County, has been identified.  The vehicle accident happened on Friday, near Lindsay, at about 11:30 AM.

The crash happened on Highway 137, west of Road 188.  A 2001 Hyundai was headed west on the highway, when the vehicle swerved into oncoming traffic.  It hit a GMC tow truck head-on, driven by Frank D. Smith.  And debris from the collision struck a 2012 Nissan vehicle.

The driver of the Hyundai has been identified as 87 year old, George M. Franks.  He died at the scene of the accident.

Smith was taken to Kaweah Delta Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Fatal Car Accident Near Lindsay on Highway 137

May 30, 2014- A Visalia man was killed in a car collision, in Tulare County, on Friday.  The automobile accident happened west of Lindsay, on Highway 137, at about 11:30 AM.

The 87 year old man, was driving a 2001 Hyundai westbound on Highway 137.  The Hyundai drifted into the eastbound lane and smashed into a GMC tow truck, that was driven by, Frank Smith of Visalia.

The driver of the Hyundai was fatally wounded and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Smith sustained minor injuries in the incident, and taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.
