September 28, 2014- A single vehicle accident on Interstate 5, near Coalinga ends in fatality. The Fresno County SUV collision took place on Sunday, at approximately 12:05 AM.
A 26 year old man, from Portland, was driving north in a 1988 Mercury Mountaineer, on the I-5 freeway. As the SUV was north of Hudson Avenue, it drifted off the highway to the left, and lost control. The Sport Utility Vehicle overturned multiple times and came to rest in the right lane of the Interstate.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. A 33 year old woman, who was a passenger in the Mercury, sustained minor injuries.

Head-on Crash on Highway 33 near Coalinga Leads to Fatality
August 29, 2014- A Paso Robles man died after a head-on car collision, near Coalinga. The Fresno County vehicle accident happened on Friday night.
The man was driving a 1994 Mazda south on Highway 33 when he drifted off the roadway to the right and then swerved back onto the road. The quick turn caused the man to veer across the southbound lane into oncoming traffic and hit a 2007 Toyota with five passengers from Paso Robles, that was headed north.
The Toyota's driver Scott Martini, 33, had minor injuries. Passengers Roselle Martini, 32, and three children, ages 6, 7 and 13, had minor to moderate injuries. They were all taken by ambulance to Hanford Medical Center for treatment. The Mazda driver was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

Fatal Car Accident on Highway 33 in Coalinga
Visalia Nursing Home Attorney John Rozier has the following collision report; On Saturday, August 16, 2014, at about 2:30 PM, a man was killed on Highway 33, in Fresno County.
The accident took place on southbound Highway 33, north of Highway 41 in Coalinga, California. The Wasco man was driving on the highway when his car veered onto the shoulder and then overturned several times.
Officers reported that the driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Semi Truck Spills Acid on Highway 198 After Crash
December 6, 2011- A semi truck crash closes Highway 198 near Coalinga, west of Visalia, on Tuesday at about 11 AM.
A big rig hauling a form of sulfuric acid overturned on the highway near Parkfield Grade, causing the liquid to leak onto the roadway.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident. The truck driver was not injured.
The roads were closed in both directions, until crews could come in and clean up the spill.

December 9 I-5 accident kills one
On December 9 Nicholas Biello of Sun Valley was killed in a wrongful death accident on I-5 near Coalinga in Fresno County. Reportedly Biello was a passenger in a van driven by Barbra Crown. The van was on I-5 near Hudson Avenue near Coalinga when it overturned and Biello was thrown from the vehicle even though he was wearing a seat belt. He died at the scene of the accident. Crown was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter. No further details regarding the cause of the accident or other injuries are available at this time.

December 14 I-5 accident near Coalinga kills one
On December 14 a San Fernando man was killed when he was thrown from his vehicle during an accident on I-5 near Coalinga. The accident occurred around 2 pm south of Jayne Avenue. The man, reportedly, was not wearing a seat belt. He was air lifted to Community Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The man was driving northbound on I-5 when he swerved to avoid hitting a semi truck. This caused his van to roll over in the center median. November 8 crash on Highway 145 near Coalinga kills one, injures two
On November 8-- Abraham Rango was killed when the car he was riding in hit a power pole on Highway 145 near Coalinga. The vehicle was traveling southbound near Butte Avenue. The driver was intoxicated and made an unsafe turn when he hit a power pole. Both the driver and another passenger were injured.
