Kern County Automobile Collision Ends in Fatality, on Highway 223, in Arvin

Bakersfield, Visalia, Fresno Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following accident report; On Saturday, June 20, 2015, two people were fatally wounded in a rollover vehicle collision, on Highway 223.  The Kern County automobile accident occurred in Arvin, at approximately 4:40 in the morning.

A 22 year old female driver of a black Honda Accord, was headed west on Highway 223.  The Accord started to veer off the highway, near General Beale Road.  The car collided with a barbwire fence and then rolled over.

The driver and a passenger, who was also 22 years old, were ejected from the Honda.  They were reported to have not been wearing their seat belts, when the accident happened.

The two women died at the scene of the collision.  A third female in the automobile, suffered serious injuries.  She was taken to Kern Medical Center, in Bakersfield, for treatment.  Her condition is unknown.

Two Killed in Rollover Car Accident on Highway 223, in Arvin

June 20, 2015- Two people were killed in a Kern County car accident, that happened on Highway 223.  The automobile collision took place early Saturday, at about 4:40 AM, in Arvin.

A black Honda Accord was driving westbound, near General Beale Road when it drifted off the highway.  The vehicle hit a barbwire fence and overturned.  The 22 year old female driver, and front passenger, who was also 22, were thrown from the Honda.

It is reported that both women were not wearing safety restraints at the time of the crash.  They were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third occupant in the vehicle sustained major injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center, in Bakersfield.

Double Fatality in Rollover Car Accident on Bear Mountain Road, in Arvin

June 21, 2015- A fatal car accident took place in Kern County, on Sunday.  The automobile collision happened in Arvin, southeast of Bakersfield.

The rollover crash occurred on Bear Mountain Boulevard.  The vehicle overturned into a field, and two women were ejected.

They died at the scene of the accident.  Another victim in the car sustained serious injuries and was taken to Kern County Medical Center.

DUI Pickup Truck Collision with Motorcycle Ends in Fatality, in Kern County, on Sunset Boulevard

On Wednesday, May 6, 2015, a drunk driving accident ended in the death of a motorcyclist, in Kern County.  The victim has been identified, in the pickup truck collision that took place near Arvin, at around 6:10 PM.

Danny Darnell Cottengim, 57 years old, of Bakersfield, was driving his motorcycle east on Sunset Boulevard, near Towerline Road, when he was hit by a white pickup truck.  The truck, driven by Angel Jimenez, was westbound on Sunset Blvd., when it made a turn suddenly, right into the path of the bike.

The biker was ejected from the motorcycle after the vehicles collided.  Cottengim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Jimenez, and his wife, who was a passenger in the truck, were unharmed.  Officers arrested the pickup driver for driving while intoxicated.

Drunk Driving Truck Accident Leads to Death of Motorcyclist near Arvin, on Sunset Boulevard

Central California Car Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following report; On Wednesday, May 6, 2015 a vehicle accident killed a Kern County motorcyclist.  The pickup truck collision occurred near Arvin, during the evening hours.

Angel Jimenez, 52 years old, was driving a white pickup truck with his wife.  The pickup truck was traveling westbound on Sunset Boulevard, southeast of Bakersfield, near Tower Line Road.  Jimenez made a turn from Sunset Blvd., directly into the path of a motorcycle that was headed east on the roadway.

After the two vehicles collided, the biker was thrown from his motorcycle.  The man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene of the crash.

Jimenez and his wife were not hurt.  The CHP arrested the driver for driving under the influence of alcohol.  It is reported that he had a blood-alcohol level that was great than .08.

Motorcycle Crash Ends Fatally in Kern County

July 8, 2014- A motorcyclist was fatally wounded in a big rig collision, in Kern County on Tuesday.  The accident occurred near Arvin, south of Bakersfield.

It is reported that a semi truck pulled out onto eastbound Highway 223, at Tower Line Road, into the path of a motorcyclist.  The biker had the right of way.

The motorcyclist attempted to avoid the crash, but didn't in time, and crashed into the big rig.

The bike rider was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Pregnant Woman Trapped in Car After Crash near Bakersfield

November 2, 2011- A Wednesday morning crash traps pregnant woman in car, in Arvin, miles from Bakersfield.

The accident occurred between four vehicles along Comanche Road and Sunset Boulevard, just before 8 AM.

The CHP said the car ended up in different directions, so they didn’t know at that moment how the collision happened. They claim that the win and blowing dust were probably contributing factors for the incident.


A pregnant woman was trapped in her car until crews could get her out. She was said to have minor injuries.

Two other people were also hurt. All three were taken to the hospital.
