Man Killed in an Accident in Winton

December 15, 2011- A man was killed in a crash, Thursday night in Winton, northwest of Fresno, at approximately 10:30 PM.

Jose Nieto-Ramirez, of Winton, was driving a grey 1998 Hyundai Accent on Cypress Avenue, near Fairlane Avenue.

The driver of a 2004 Infinity G35, Javier Lara Jr, of Atwater, was driving down Fairlane and failed to stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection. The Infinity slammed into the driver's side of the Hyundai.

Nieto-Ramirez died at the scene of the accident.

Lara suffered minor injuries.

Both cars received extensive damage.

Diesel Fuel Spilled on Akers Street after a Crash in Visalia

September 30, 2011- A crash involving a farming truck spilled diesel gas all over the road in Visalia, Friday morning. The accident occurred on Akers Street between Tulare Avenue and Cypress Avenue.

The driver of the farming truck lost control of his vehicle as he was headed south on Akers. The truck swerved, and hit a tree. The collision caused 40 gallons of diesel to spill into the southbound lanes of Akers St., near Cypress Ave.


Crews blocked off Akers so the spill could be cleaned up.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

May 23 Winton Accident

On May 23 Donna Marie Walls- Randall was killed in a wrongful death accident at Walnut Avenue and Cypress Avenue in Winton. Walls-Randall was turning left onto Cypress Road when Jose Luis Dominguez attempted to pass another vehicle in the opposite lane and hit her vehicle.  Dominguez is being charged with felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
