Rollover SUV Collision in Fresno County Kills One, Near Kingsburg

On Tuesday, April 28, 2015, an automobile collision resulted in the death of a Selma woman, in Fresno County.  The SUV accident happened near Kingsburg, at approximately 5:45 PM.

A 2004 Cadillac Escalade, driver by 62 year old Maria Jesus Gonzalez-Valdez/Vasquez, was traveling southbound on Sixth Avenue, just north of Bangor Avenue.  Passengers; Petra Rodriguez, and Guadalupe Cano, and an 89 year old woman from Selma, were also in the SUV.

A 2014 Hyundai Sonata, driven by Ruben Orona, was in Meli's Grocery parking lot, when the car entered the southbound lane on Sixth Ave.  The Hyundai pulled out right in front of the Sport Utility Vehicle.

The front of the Sonata smashed into the right side of the Cadillac, which caused the Escalade to rollover several times.  The passenger in the front seat of the SUV was thrown from the vehicle.  She sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Vasquez, Rodriguez, and Cano sustained minor to moderate injuries and were taken to a local hospital.

Orona was not injured.

Big Rig Caught Fire in Collision on Highway 99, in Kingsburg

On Thursday, January 15, 2015, a big rig accident took place in Fresno County, on southbound Highway 99.  The semi truck collision occurred in Kingsburg, at about 12 AM, and was a result of foggy weather conditions.

The tractor-trailer crashed on the freeway and hit a concrete barrier, then overturned.  The semi then burst into flames, and the driver was thrown from the vehicle, and rolled down the embankment, near the Sierra Street exit.

The big rig driver suffered major injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Fresno County Vehicle Rollover Accident in Kingsburg on Road 12 and Avenue 392

October 7, 2014- A rollover accident took place in Kingsburg.  The Fresno County car collision happened on Tuesday morning, at the intersection of Road 12, and Avenue 392.

One of the vehicle involved in the incident, was reported to have run a stop sign at the intersection, before two car crashed into one another.  A white vehicle overturned after impact with the other automobile.

Emergency personnel had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate one of the victims from their vehicle. One of the car contained a babysitter, and three kids, with ages ranging from 8 months to 5 years.

There were some injuries, but all are expected to be alright.

Multi-Vehicle Crashes on Highway 99 near Kingsburg

August 3, 2014- Two separate mulitple vehicle collisions happened on Highway 99, in Fresno County, in the early afternoon.  Both accidents took place on Sunday, near Kingsburg, California.

Three vehicles were involved in each crash.  The first accident occurred at about 12:04 PM, and the second one followed shortly thereafter.  Both happened on the freeway at Road 12, and slowed traffic for about an hour.

The cause of the collisions are unknown at this time.

Four Car Pileup Accident on Highway 99 near Kingsburg

Visalia Elderly Maltreatment Attorney John Rozier has the following report; On Thursday, July 17, 2014 a multiple vehicle collision was caused by a driver fleeing authorities, in Fresno County.  The SUV accident occurred on Highway 99, near Kingsburg, at about 9:30 PM.

A female driver in a 2005 Ford was reported to have been fleeing Fresno County sheriff, at a high rate of speed on southbound Highway 99, near American Avenue.

The Ford struck a concrete barrier and then swerved into the northbound lanes of the freeway, where it hit an SUV driven by a female who was traveling with her two young children.  Two other vehicles smashed into the Sport Utility Vehicle immediately after the initial crash.

The engine on the Ford then caught fire, and the sheriff's deputies had to break a window to get the driver out of the car.  She had to be restrained and taken to the hospital.

The SUV's driver suffered a broken leg and other injuries.  She was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

No other injuries have been reported.

Motorcyclist Killed in Vehicle Collision on Highway 201 Kingsburg

July 9, 2014- A motorcyclist was fatally wounded in a vehicle collision on Wednesday, in Tulare County.  The car accident happened east of Kingsburg, at about 9:45 PM.

Hortencia Rebollero, 31 years old, the driver of a 2007 Honda, was traveling west on Highway 201, near Road 48.

At the same time a 2007 Harley Davidson was eastbound on State Route 201, which is also Avenue 400.  The Harley was driven by Noe Hernandez, of Dinuba.

The Honda turned left onto a business driveway that was off of Avenue 400, and went directly into the path of the motorcycle.  The biker was ejected from the motorcycle.

Noe Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Accident North of Kingsburg Ends in Fatality

May 10, 2014- A car accident ends fatally for one man, in Fresno County, on Saturday.  The collision took place north of Kingsburg, at about 1:20 AM.

Teodoro Nunez Espinoza, 70 years old of Dinuba, was driving home from work, when he was struck by a driver of a pickup truck, who reportedly was driving under the influence of alcohol.  The crash happened near Mountain View Avenue and Mendocino Avenue.

Teodoro Espinoza was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.  No reports on the condition of the other driver.

Vehicle Hits Pole in Fresno County Collision on Bethel Avenue, Kingsburg

May 8, 2014- A vehicle accident leaves Kingsburg man seriously injured, in Fresno County.  The collision happened early Thursday morning.

Aaron M. Castellanos, 21 years old, was driving his car on Bethel Avenue, when he smashed the vehicle into a pole, south of Manning Avenue.

Castellanos suffered severe injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.

The California Highway Patrol said that drunk driving is suspected to be a factor in the collision.

Three Car Collision Ends in Serious Injury near Kingsburg

January 27, 2012- A woman was injured in a crash involving three vehicles, just minutes from Fresno, near Kingsburg. The accident happened on Friday, at about 8:00 AM.

Mary Jo Reid, of Selma, was traveling east on Mountain View Avenue, when Alexandra Alves, of Kingsburg, was westbound on Mountain View. Alves, waited to turn south onto Academy Avenue, when she was rear-ended by a third vehicle.

The third vehicle's driver, Adriana Gonzales, hit Alves hard enough, that the impact pushed it into the oncoming lane. This caused Alves' and Reid's cars to collide head-on.

Reid suffered serious injuries. She was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. It is reported that she was still in bad condition on Saturday.

Alves and Gonzales received minor injuries in the collision.

Car Hits Gas Main in Kingsburg

December 5, 2011- A car hit a gas main in Kingsburg, just minutes from Fresno, at about 1 PM.

The accident happened on Sierra Street, near 20th Street, right near the Kingsburg High School. The crash caused gas to leak into the neighborhood.

Gas Company crews had to dig into the road in order to turn the gas main off.


Officers said that no one was hurt and there were no evacuations needed.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

September 6 Kingsburg Accident kills one

On September 6 Derek Welch was killed in a wrongful death accident in Kings County. Reportedly Welch was northbound on Zediker Avenue near Caruthers Avenue in Kings County when he made an unsafe turn and went onto the shoulder of the road. His vehicle then went into an almond orchard and rolled over. Welch was killed as a result of the accident. This accident is being investigated as a possible dui. www.nelsonrozier.com

May 22 head-on collision near Kingsburg ends in a wrongful death

On May 22 Efrain Sosa was killed in a head-on collision at the intersection of Road 132 and Avenue 320 near Kingsburg. Reportedly Sosa was driving his pickup truck southbound when he crossed into the northbound lane  and hit the pickup truck driven by Melonee Watson.  Both had to be removed from their vehicles by the fire department.  Sosa was declared dead on the way to the hospital. Watson was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Sosa was drunk at the time of the accident.www.nelsonrozier.com

Motorcycle accident kills Kingsburg man

March 3, 2010--A motorcycle accident this morning on East Trimmer Springs Road near Pine Flat Road in Fresno County killed a 66 year old Kingsburg man.  He was struck by a vehicle driven by Susan Adams of Piedra who was driving a 1996 Ford Taurus.

January 27 Kingsburg accident injuresa CHP officer

On January 27 Garrett Perez, a CHP officer, was injured when his car was hit by a Toyota on Mountain View Avenue near Madsen Avenue in Kingsburg. The patrol car was being driven by CHP officer Gabriel Perez when the two officers went to check on a vehicle fire. Gabriel Perez positioned his car to turn left, when the Toyota came up on his right. He then decided to turn right instead and hit the Toyota.
