August 26, 2011- A update to the fatality that occurred near Lemoore on Highway 41. The woman killed was identified as Lora Jean Williams of Bakersfield.
Investigators are still looking into why the collision, between the two trucks, happened early Friday, near Glendale Avenue.
Reports have suggested that Williams may have slowed to a stop in the slow lane of the highway, which explains the large fire that witnesses said they saw. The fire engulfed both vehicles and burned the grass on the shoulder of the road nearby.
The coroner reported that Williams died within seconds of the crash, from smoke and hot gas inhalation.
