May 25, 2014- Two big rigs crashed into each other then caught fire, in Kern County, on Sunday. The semi truck accident occurred on Interstate 5, at about 10:37 AM.
A FedEx semi truck was travelling southbound on the I-5 highway when it struck another big rig, at Rowlee Road. The semi that was hit, then flipped on its side and started to go up in flames.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the truck was on fire in a field, and some of the weeds did catch fire too, but they were able to contain it. The vehicle was abandoned before the Fed-Ex truck had smashed into it.
Some minor injuries were reported.
