November 27, 2011- A crash occurred Sunday morning on Interstate 5, near Gorman, killing one person and injuring two others. The accident happened at about 6:30 AM.
A Chevy Tahoe with five people from the Los Angeles area, were traveling on I-5 along the Grapevine. The Chevy was in the fast lane and drifted off the shoulder, then swerved, crossed all four lanes and crashed into the Gorman bridge.
It is reported that two of the backseat passengers were not wearing their seatbelts. They were thrown from the vehicle, and fell down onto the Gorman School Road below.
A 21-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Alexander Vega, the other person that was ejected from the Tahoe, suffered major injuries.
Another occupant of the vehicle had moderate injuries, while the driver and the last passenger sustained only minor injuries.
The CHP are investigation the cause of the collision.
