April 14, 2015- A car accident ends in fatality in Tulare County, on Tuesday, as a result of a downed stop sign. The automobile collision occurred near Pixley, at approximately 11:51 AM.
A 54-56 year old Earlimart man was driving west in a 2001 Chevy vehicle, on Wright Avenue. At the same time a 2011 GMC truck, driven by Juan Lopez, 24, was northbound on Elm Street.
Traffic on Elm Street have the right-of-way, while those on Wright Ave. are supposed to have a stop sign. The stop sign at the east side of the intersection was reported to have been missing.
The Chevrolet driver failed to stop at the intersection of Wright and Elm and was broadsided by the pickup truck.
The Earlimart man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Lopez suffered minor injuries.
This car collision needs much more investigation. The claimants could have a possible case against the county, depending on whether prior downed stop sign accidents have occurred at that
location. Also we can see if the neighbors in the area had called the missing sign in. Please give Attorney Rozier a call at 559-713-0159. www.nelsonrozier.com
